Will this combo work or is it cutting it too close with the size of the backplate? Do you happen to know Phil?

I have heard of ppl trimming the backing plate down on the flex with a band saw. I cannot see any reason of why this wouldn't work.

6.5" pads is what you actually suppose to use with VRG3401.

Supercharged is correct, but I can't blame ya for not wanting to buy a whole new set of pads for it.

That's kind of what I figured. I'm not wanting to cut down the backing plate but I figured since it was 5.5" that they *might* work.

6.5" pads are just huge in my opinion. I wish Flex would make a 5" backing plate.

What about 6in pads like Sonus or Chemical Guys.

I really like the buff and shine pads (uber). I know cg hexlogic are b&s but I'd like to order from Phil of course.
