I just ran out of m105 and m205 and need to put in an order for some gallon jugs. I've had great luck with both of them, but before I go ahead and spend ~200 on two gallons of the stuff, I'd like to hear some opinions on the 3M perfect-it compounds, specifically the "extra cut" and the "ultrafina"compound. IDK if this is true, but I hear that the 105 is better at finishing than the extra cut.. opinions? And what about m205 compared to the ultrafina? How do they compare price wise? If I am also leaving out an important polish that you use in your detailing arsenal, please post here!! I am trying to consolidate all my compounds/polishes to one or two lines, and so far MG m105 and 205 have earned their place :] Thanks guys!
The only products I use from 3M is their Extra-Cut and Ultrafina, two very good products. M105 is also a very good product and will finish down better than Extra-Cut. M205 isn't bad but does not have the gloss level that Ultrafina has for a finishing polish. M205 does clean up some medium stuff but will have to be followed up with Ultrafina for the best finish.
I've been using 3M UK for quite some time now but can't say I've used much of MG. So far I've been pleased with 3M..but I should give MG a fair shot  all in good time.
3M Extra Cut is more aggressive than M105 in my experience, has a longer working time, and is more expensive. M105 finishes better than 3M Extra Cut. I have not used Meguiars M205; however, I enjoy using Ultrafina.
awesome, thanks guys! When it comes time for some more m205, I am going to give the ultrafina a try and see which I like better. Carlos, you should really give the 105 205 combo a try. it has REVOLUTIONIZED my paint correction arsenal! What is your go-to method for paint correction when you don't have a specific "attack plan" in mind? Always open to new ideas :]
Well for some reason Meg's just doesn't do it for me, I mean it just doesn't get my attention  not sure why. My go to products are and in this order: Menzerna 3M UK polishes and lastly Scholl products I've found that the Scholl products do a good job on sticky clear coat...which is odd because I've always thought they were very similar to Menzerna but they seem to have more lubrication..:shead:..well the more I use the Scholl products the more I enjoy them...but I'm having a hard time getting a way from Menzerna, it always delivers for me...but in due time I'll venture and try out other polishes.
