I had a chance to use all three this weekend, all on my 3401. I really enjoyed using the PFW with SIP...until it got 10* hotter, at which point I had to switch to SysOneX3 + orange cross groove. The white Sonus pad was a bear to use with 106fa until the last section of my roof. 3M. UK black pad (from Nica) + 106fa on my hood was a dream...so smooth and effortless.

    Just wanted to share :peace:

So did you like or dislike the Sonus? Sorry if I missed your opinion in your comment.

Also what is UK Black equivalent to in terms of lake country pads? I would really like a nice finishing/jeweling pad.

    Thanks!

Ya know, the UK black pad felt like it lost some of its bite after the first section and that may be why it ended up feeling so smooth.

As far as the Sonus pad is concerned, I think it was just too hot for me to be using it with 106fa. Also, I'm thinking my prep may have also been insufficient; the Griot's clay wasn't removing what I was expecting it to remove and it would catch on spots that had plenty of ONR clay lube sprayed on the surface.

I will say that I wouldn't mind trying a rotary and wool after using the PFW with the 3401; I could have used more correction ability on the spoiler outline I was trying to correct. I'll try to post up the pics after work.

I'm quite pleased with how the 3M UK pads have performed for me, it's really hard to describe the difference but when you use it an feel them for your self it's quite the pleasant experience.

Look forward to the pictures :druling: and thank you for sharing :peace:

    Bump for pictures.

So does anybody know which is the 3M finishing pad Black or Blue? I know the orange is for cutting but I am confused on the pad aggressiveness order. From what I can tell from most to least aggressive it is Orange>Black>Blue?

Yeah, orange, black, then blue from most aggressive to least aggressive for the 3M UK pads.

Very tempting Carlos. I may have to order some of these from you if you still have them available.

I really wish I'd tried the 3M UK pads earlier. IMO, they're the perfect size for the 3401.

The orange pad and the Ultimate pads are the only pads that aren't of the waffle type.

Here are the pics. Keep in mind that my '00 Mustang GT had never been garage kept; apartment parking lot then my driveway. I was all sorts of :gross: when I removed the spoiler for the first time ever.

The after pics might be a mix of pre and post 85RD passes...I can't remember. Anywho, the PFW and SIP was used on the driver's side 1/3 of the trunk. As I said before, it must've gotten too hot because I couldn't duplicate the results on the middle and passenger's side thirds of the trunk; after the SIP had flashed clear and I'd done a couple of Prep-All wipedowns, the paint wasn't as black.

Sorry, no pics of the 106FA/Sonus/3M UK Black combos on the Mazdaspeed3.
