A good buddy of mine has been bugging me ever since my first write-up a few months ago to detail his 2005 Black Dodge Ram 1500. I've never detailed a truck before so to be quite honest I was dreading it. That's alot of acreage. Add the fact that it's flat BLACK and that it's never been detailed or waxed, lives outside, and caters to a rather large dog that tries to jump into the bed with the tailgate up, I called in reinforcements. Two detailing friends from the Adam's Forums I met recently drove up from Orlando to graciously help me do this detail. Super thanks to the gang for braving the cold and volunteering to help me bang this one out!!! It just so happens that the only day we had available for all 3 of us was one of the coldest days in Florida. Despite following a hard freeze the night before, everyone verified the night before that they are "up for the challenge". Awesome job. Gotta agree about not wanting to do trucks. I have a few friends with black full size pickup trucks that always want to to "buff" them for free... I always tell them it will be useless since they have no clue how to care for it afterwards and I'd hate to see my work go to waste since they most likely will take it to the swirlomatic....
Hey Jae, I didn't realize you were over here on DB too, I'm over on the Adam's forum too with the same tag. You guys did an awesome job on this truck, really brought it back to life. The finish on the paint looks super deep.
nice work guys. I like the challenge of a big truck but im weird like that haha. paint looks nice and deep, 3 guys to go after it worked well.
You guys did a great job. The side by sides really show the work. When did you the engine, did you cover anything up before using the APC or during the "gentle" rinse?
Great job guys that thing was beatup. I do one of those twice a year for my neighbor. Except his is Blue. it does take a toll on you.
So P1ET is a moderator here, but has other folks detail his truck ... like a BOSS ... lmao. Kidding aside, great work guys. I detailed a 4-door Ram a while ago and it was my first and last.
Thanks everyone! It was quite a bit of work, but the outcome was great! The most satisfying part was when the owner said - " I was thinking about selling it, but now it looks better than new!". Oh, and that Jae fed us all day!
