The owner of this vehicle contacted me two weeks after purchasing this brand new Forte from the dealer. He was not happy with the condition of the paint and wanted to get it looking as best as possible. Knowing how soft Kia paint can be, I knew this wouldn't be an easy job. This is the customers first car so his budget was limited to a one step polish. However, after I inspected the paint I contacted the customer to let him know much more work would be required. A total of 14 hours and two polishing stages was needed to get the paint perfect. Process: Wheels cleaned with OPC 3:1 Tires and wells cleaned with Zep Purple 4:1 Washed with Duragloss 902 & OPC mix Clayed with Riccardo yellow Compounded using D300 on Megs microfiber cutting pad Polished using Wolfgang Finishing Polish on a white polishing pad Eraser wipe down Sealed with Opti Seal x 2 Tires dressed with Optimum Tire Shine Glass cleaned with Stoners IG This is how the car looked when I arrived The car only had 1023km Wheels and tires needed some work After washing and claying the paint, as well as cleaning the wheels and tires, I had the customer pull it inside. It looked much better already Once you got close though, the damage became evident. It looked like the dealer washed the vehicle with the shop broom. The hood was hit the worst. I had to do some heavy compounding to remove all the deep scratches which hazed up the soft paint pretty bad. If you look closely the defects are removed on the right hazy side. You can see the haze compounding left in this pic too After polishing there was a drastic improvement in clarity and gloss This was the mirror before And after After wiping down the paint with carpro eraser, no LSP After applying two coats of opti seal, I went with the owner to an empty parking lot to take pictures. Unfortunately the sun wasn't around. Thanks for looking!
