New Porsche in for enhancement, slight correction and protection to start off life properly. Stunning Aqua Blue metallic over Espresso this new to me client had tried to put a coating on and quickly realized he might be over his head on this DIY project. Right before the wash/decon, wheels with plenty of brake dust which means the car is being DRIVEN like it should. Most of the car was in good shape, but some slight holograms present here and on the rear valance area. Evidence of the dried up 22PLE in all the edges of the rear factory emblems(Which are almost a paragraph imo). Rear bumper. A first for me.................50/50 of dried up coating buffed off, did not go quickly and put up a little fight however I achieved "Scoreboard status". Beautiful finish coming out. Adhesive residue missed at the dealership. After fine crevice polishing work, rear valance looking "As new". Polishing efforts rewarded. Gorgeous color combo in the interior. All finished, just before going out for direct sun pics.
Final water wipe. Full house this weekend, best from Italy, Germany and Japan. This is car perfection at the moment....................even though it's stock.......for now. This is my favorite angle on this car....The profile. "Curvy girl"....................
Super job Bob! How difficult was removing 22PLE? I know the new 911's (991) are somewhat larger than its predecessor what are your impressions?
Simply a great car, cannot wait to see the GT3(Will get my hands on one soon) the 22PLE was not put on properly so that was the issue, took some compounding to get it off.
I got to see 4 RS 4.0 at the california festival of speed this weekend. No 991 or other 997.2 will ever come close to it as far as future value The rear wheel steering is what scares me the most for the new 991 gt3. Just another expensive item that can break and ruin a track weekend like the centerlock wheels. It is the last of the great modern 911s. As impractical as the 997.2 RS cars are for daily street driving, I have the urge to buy one as these new pdk gt3 cars are going to drive up the value of the 997.2 RS 3.8. The pdk is a great transmission for the street and those that want to collect every last tenth of speed on the track, but it soulless on the track. I can't wait for the young rich kids with money with the new gt3 going up against the veterans in their 997.1 and 997.2 RS.
