Brand new..................... with damage, it is never suprising what dealerships are capable of but it keeps guys like me busy. Vehicle right before a good bath/decon (It would need it actually as there was a good amout of particulate on the whole vehicle especially the rear and top). . Used the surface prep towel on the glass, conventional clay on the painted surfaces. Marring & smudges on the "B" pillars. After compounding. I would discover short deep scratches on different parts of the vehicle, the holograms here tell me that the scratches were probably pretty bad that the dealership guys had to remove them.................... but leave holograms behind(50% correction of course). Corrected. This pic does not quite show just how deep the abrasion was here, it would take almost 20 minutes on this alone after light sanding(Buffdaddy provided spot sanding star discs.............thanks Mr KBM). After. Another short deep scratch. After. Defects on wheel arch. After. More deep scratches on the hood. Abrasion on the other side of the hood. Marring & bird dropping etch. Fortunate to have good paint depth readings in this area as the bird bomb etched in heavy, all better now. Another issue was hard water etch, my favorite..................... in all the jambs(Shuts for those across the pond in the UK). One area that had the most hard water damage was the underside of the rear bumper, here fixing this problem.
Here in (K)alifornia, sometimes the front plate holder will be installed and I wanted to see if there would be issues in the paint underneath.............I would not be dissapointed. Removed and paint corrected. More water spots in the engine bay. Spots are gone, paint hand polished. 5.0 Twin Turbo powerplant now looking sporty and free of water spots. Right before LSP was applied. Whees polished and tires looking good. Out in the sun for glamour shots.
