First ive been a long time lurker of the forums here and you guys do some pretty amazing work... so HI :worship2: Gf just got a new kia optima t-gdi (the turbo one:thumb a few weeks ago... the dealship did a pretty terrible job at washing it, and then let it sit outside over night to dry.... next to a sprinkler. The wash job they gave it was pretty streaky and not that great... they offered to re-wash it but i told them no big deal ill do it. Its been a few weeks and it kept getting more and more dirty (no garage to park it in... my GTI gets the garage) I wish i had some before shots... i was only planning on going out and doing a quick wash/dry to get all the dust and water spots off.... next time I plan to do a detail ill take a whole series of shots 5 hours later.... (this picture is right out of the camera no editing or anything also) Products used: Dawn/Meguairs soap mixture to get rid of whatever protectant the dealer used 2 bucket wash method with regular hose foam gun and wool mit Iron X Sonax Full Effect Meguairs Clay bar Meguairs Detail spray 1:1 mixture Meguairs Correction Compound (few swirl spots where the dealer might have been using a dirty sponge/rag) Meguairs MF Pads Meguairs Ultimate Polish Adams Foam Pads Adams Machine super wax Meguairs Endurance tire shine (i then wipe it after with a towel so its not SUPER shinny) Porter Cable 7424xp Bonus: my GTI I did last week :headbang:
Yeah kia has come a long way in the last few years... ask me 3-4 years ago to buy a kia and i would have laughed at you... now not so much... this thing is pretty sweet, Its 275hp turbo w/ flappy padal gear box (tribute to top gear lol), leather, has the smart key w/ push button start, and tons of room in it.
when my neighbor got one, i was skeptical as well..... looks like a lexus, fit and finish is very nice. Leather was on par with what you would find in a camry, and you cannot beat 275 HP... it definatley is well appointed car.
I'm really taking a liking to those. I bought a 2012 Sorento in August and there was an Optima in the showroom that color that really caught my eye.
I saw the Limited model at the NAIAS in black/black with leather interior and chrome wheels. It was stunning!! That colour looks great on your gf's car.
