Caution: I lost my mind taking pics! This vehicle is from a repeat customer but I haven't done a vehicle for him yet with a coating, so this was going to be the first. Opti Guard it was. You would think this vehicle would be easy to do, but all the 90° angles make it tough. He also wanted the roof polished and sealed as well. Oh, and by the way, I got to beta test a new DG trim dressing/coating. Why do I call it a coating? It is believed to last a year. More on that later. Here it is as it arrived: First up was to remove the rear tire: Wheels/Wells/Tires/Barrels The tires were cleaned with Zep 505. The wells were shot with Zep Citrus and then cleaned with a wheel woolie from the wheel wash bucket. The faces were shot with ZC too and then washed with a mitt with DG 901. The wells were cleaned with LATA and a brush. Here is a tire after having been sprayed only (no agitation yet) with 505: Next up came a foaming with Megs Hyper Wash and a bit of DG 901 thrown in for good measure. The paint got polished with my 3401 and an orange B/S pad with PF. There were some scratches that needed 105 and wool. There were a few chips and scratches that needed filling too. One was so fine, that I used a needle to get the paint inside the scratch. The polishing was followed by an ERASER wipe down. This was on Saturday and the forecast was crappy for Sunday, so I got some shots of it just polished. No trim dressing, no tire dressing, only paint was done at this point: Now that I knew I'd have respectable shots, I brought it back in to coat. The wheels and paint got coated with OG, including the roof. Next up was the trim. I got to try a new trim sealant Jerry's been working on. I was so happy I got it in time for this vehicle too! I set it up in a small spritzing spray bottle and used either a tire applicator or a foam applicator depending on the location. Here is a 50/50 shot of it on the running board: The interior was vacuumed, steam cleaned where necessary and the leather and plastic were cleaned with an AG interior pad and Opt PC at 3:1. The glass was done with a KD cloth. The tires were shot with DG Wet shine via air gun and leveled with an applicator (Not done until outside shots). Here are a few inside finished shots: And finally for just a very few more outside finished shots...and I DID get lucky with the weather too: Notice the trim at the bottom was done too: Some "Flawless Reflections", LOL: The Roof: Thanks for persevering to the end. Comments appreciated.
Looks awesome. I will be doing a unlimited next week...no color matched roof or flares though, thank god lol.
