Did this car a little while ago and just now getting some time to post it up. Owner brought this in as a basically brand new car with hardly any miles on it. After having key parts wrapped in satin vinyl and getting clear bra installed on the front end, the task was to fully correct the paint and permanently protect it with Optimum Opti-Guard. The paint, plastics, wheels, and lights would all be coated with Opti-Guard and the glass would be coated with CQuartz. About 20 hours altogether. Upon arrival Swirls on the A-pillar Swirls and RIDS (Random Isolated Deep Scratches) seen on the hood Some swirls in the clear film that would require some correction Spraying the wheels down with Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner, a pH balanced cleaner safe for all wheel types. The Mini Daytona Speedmaster Wheel Brush getting the wheel barrels nice and clean. Inner barrels looking great Foaming the car with a mix of Dawn and APC Using the Swissvax detail brush to clean up the hard to reach areas Washed, clayed, and ready for taping Some cars need just a little taping and some need a lot.....this was the latter. Sorting out the A-Piller The C-Pillars required extensive correction ....other side One more to go Correction completed on the roof Lots more taping for correcting the rest of the paint. Door edges and around the handles had clear film as well and was protected via 3M Fine Line 1/4" tape. Hood fully corrected Onto the wheels which needed some decent correction as well... After compounding Wheel looking much better Pain fully corrected 50/50 of Opti-Guard on the trim Engine tidied up as well Finished pics after finishing the coating Interior needed little work, but was cleaned up as well Opti-Guard gave a great look to the vinyl wrap covering the factory chrome trim. Thanks for checking it out!
awesome work on the Mini! You do some pretty nice tape jobs lol I always hate taping off. Car looks sharp that black trim is a good touch
Nice Job! a shame its automatic :shead: So much plastic on the mini, I just give up and if i hit the pastics with polish or wax ill just take peanut butter to remove it
Thank you Tegeler. Proper taping is key to a good job. I was surprised to see it in auto form... Thanks! With this much trim, its more efficient (and safer) to just do the prep work right rather than go back to fix issues later. Thanks cnut! A sharp lookin little car.
