Completed recently@ the shop, this car had a "few issues" as most cars now have from dealers handling the car. Very understated color, this vehicle had some hard water etching and tree sap droppings, the car came in the week before for a spot repair(deep scratches on drivers side rear door which was spot sanded, levelled and touched up with factory touch up paint). The owner stated this model has a few things different from the standars C-63 such as Red calipers and 480 horsepower(going by the customer as I am not up on this model). At the beginning...... Dried out trim. Trunk riddled with hard water spots and tree sap spots. Another "dirty wheel" pic. More dry trim. Initial 50/50's of "C" pillar. After foam compounding stage, although not terrible "C" pillars if they are black always require some effort. Tree sap mark and marring on carbon decklid spoiler. Another view. Corrected trunklid. Close up of carbonfiber(the more carbon the better!!!!!). Cleaning the tow hook cover, as there was built up polish residue(dealer installed) inside and around the cover. Had about 12.5 hours on the car, time for sun pics as the car is now "as new". "C" pillars looking as they should.
Some LED pics......to make sure. Last pic, have not done any C class Mercedes this year and now I have two in the shop .....
I love the C63s. May even consider one over a 911. Wicked fast. What did you use for LSP? Paint looks really wet?
KEN: the LSP was two coats of Powerlock(menzerna) RENNES: The lift is a Snap on elecrtric scissor lift(made north of the border:mounty.
The car has the P31 package. Different brakes, added exterior CF trim, alacantra steering wheel. But P31 also claims SLS forged internals, along with a more aggressive tune resulting in the 480 bhp your client mentioned. Some of the owners who've dyno'ed them are even starting to think the 480 is underrated... Nice car.
very impressive work, Bob! Lovely color too. I really like gray, but honestly hate silver, IMO even white looks better then silver, bacause silver is boring...BTW, is CCS clearcoat on this Benz harder then on M3 convertible you did the other day?
Gorgeous machine, and I like that color a lot. Did you do the scratch repair yourself? Any pics of that?
The paint was harder on the Mercedes for sure, and as for pics of the scratch repair it was a 20 minute deal so no documentation but look @ the drivers rear door right behind the drivers door and the scratches are almost imperceptable imo.
Nice work. The color is Steel Grey, same as my E-Class. What did you use to restore the rubber trim around the windows?
Awesome job, just wondering how to get the C Pillar nice n shiney again as my GLK has the same pillars which has lots of swirls!
