I received an email from the owner of this BMW asking about a detail. After exchanging a few emails back and forth I was ecstatic to find out that he knew what he was talking about and knew exactly what he wanted. We began chatting and Opti-Coat came up, he decided to go for it as it will make future maintenance easier. The owner had the car for about two weeks at the time of the detail, he was looking for a fresh start with the paint. Overall, we go about 90-95% correction in the time allotted(about 8 hours or so), some scratches were a little deep to remove safely, as well as the usual road rash and rock chips on a 2 year old vehicle. The vehicle was polished with my Rupes 15, I absolutely love this little machine, definitely makes a long day of detailing less fatiguing. Products Used: Adam's Car Shampoo Meguiar's APC+ Wheels cleaned with Sonax FE Wheel Cleaner Glass cleaned with Adam's Glass Cleaner M101 on Meguiar's MF cutting Sonax 3/6 Nano on LC Tangerine Hydrotech Paint, wheels, and trim coated with Opti-Coat 2.0 Tires dressed with CG VRP II Wheel wells dressed with CG Bare Bones Undercarriage Spray Engine dressed with CG Black on Black spray Interior - 1z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior - 1z Einszett Deep Plastik Cleaner ONR(clay lube) Meguiar's Mild Clay ONR(detail spray) When the vehicle arrived: The sun was being a bit finicky, so the true condition of the paint was tough to capture...it was in a bit worse condition than the pictures show. The wheels were surprisingly clean for a BMW. To get started, I foamed the vehicle with my MTM cannon with a mixture of Adam's Shampoo, Meguiar's APC+, and hot water. This mixture is pretty aggressive and does a good job stripping any remaining LSP's or glazes. Now we can see the true condition of the paint. Typical marring, most likely from a wash Tested a one-step with Sonax 3/6 Nano and a Tang LC HT, good gloss restoration, but not enough correction...so I went ahead for two steps and broke out the MF pads. This is more like it... Much better! The wheels were Opti-Coated as well, and it definitely seemed to beef up the gloss on them as well! Thanks for looking! Anthony Onorato South Jersey
