BMW will be introducing the Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo Allrad next week at the New York Auto Show. This is the first time when Alpina combines its powerful flagship model with an optional all-wheel-drive system. Like the standard B7 Bi-Turbo model, the Allrad will be available in short and long wheelbases. The BMW’s xDrive System is linked to the B7 Bi-Turbo’s many electronic control systems, meaning it can offer an unusually broad spectrum of dynamic driving experiences. In combination with the electronic suspension, consisting of Variable Damper Control and Dynamic Drive (active roll stabilisation), the driver can influence the dynamic torque distribution of the all-wheel-drive system using the Drive Dynamic Control buttons to select between the programs. Three modes are available: Comfort/ Normal, Sport, and Sport+. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and 516 lb-ft (700Nm) of torque. No details on the performance numbers. Just a refresher that regular rear-wheel-drive B7 BiTurbo accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.5 sec.
The owner of the tire shop I used to work for called Tire Discounters her in the Tri-State area has a silver one and I want to say its called a B7, may not be this particular one but that car is beastie!! 21" wheels, and low as can be for a car that big.
nice. but i would rather mooch a friends GM employee discount and get the CTS-V Wagon. cause something tells me the rear seat of that monster doesn't fold down and i need a place to put shtuff. i once hauled a 10' ( ' as in FEET) long section of pre laminated counter top in my 300C .. with back splash intact and none of it was sticking out of the trunk / windows/ sun roof / doors /etc (i was so shocked i kind of wanted to leave it in there to show as many people as i could )
wait a minute. i just drove an 2010 A4 last week and it had just about the SAME headlight switch! are the bimmers jocking the VAG switches? it might be shaped slightly different but gosh it is like the same thing.
I love the exterior on BMW's, but the interior is just plain unimpressive, sort of like the interior of a car from the 80's or early 90's.
not digging it. It has like acura tail lights, 5 series front end, 7 series body, not digging the rims but the power seems to be nice. Not sure why they would need 2 turbo's though to acquire that kind of power. Might be something that works for them but not sure. I wouldn't buy it even if i could afford it.
smaller turbos less lag also the wheels on the pics there is 2 different types look at the other wheels they are like a P car turbo
1st set of rims looks like a knock off of RS6 rims, and the 2nd set looks like a knock off of Etron R8 wheels.
still not digging the rims. As for the turbo lag yes that is true but you won't get much lag from a 4.4L v8 maybe if you had a huge snail on a 1.6L honda then yeah. That's just two more things to go wrong with the car LoL.
