The Ford Taurus Interceptor will be offered in two platforms 3.5L V6 (Replacing the Crown Victoria's V8) and the twin turbo version, what Ford calls EcoBoost that will deliver 365 horsepower, 115 more than the standard Crown Vic & still have better fuel economy. Ford’s new police car can endure a rear-end crash at 75 m.p.h., easily jump curbs and accelerate twice as fast as Ford's outgoing iconic Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
That's so cool. I like that voice control in the five hundred. That would be to fun to play around with.
yeah i thought that was pretty neat myself. Was kind of trippy when i first heard it. Technology is doing big things these days.
What a sweet ride!! Where do I place my order for one? lol I'm glad to see that they put in rubber floors. Cleaning vomit and other bodily fluids in vehicles with carpet is no fun.
now criminals can be limo'd to jail in style.. lol. Wonder if the ecoboosted one will have a sweet ass blow-off valve. That would be fast and the furious classic!
I heard Ford had a replacement to the Vic. No way is a Fusion big enough, in fact I really wonder (and doubt) whether a Taurus would be big enough as well. We've got some big boys on the job and I doubt they'd fit. In fact, we have Chargers on our fleet that are newer than the CV's and faster. Everyone fights for the CV's b/c of the space. I could nit pick and point out no coffee holder space either...an absolute necessity, believe me. I have driven the ecoboost; no question it would be a great engine for the cruiser. It may need more frequent service but no biggie there. I like the steering wheel controls too. You would be really surprised to see how much space all of the equipment takes up...it's a ton.
