This vehicle belongs to yet another co-worker and yes I too owed a favor to my co-worker. You see the owner of this vehicle used to be a pro golfer, so I’m getting lessons from him. Nice trade huh, well at least I think so. Any who, the vehicle was just purchased t and wanted to make it taller, so a lift was installed. My friend just wanted a quick wash and wax, the vehicle was going to be modeling it’s lift. Well the vehicle is a: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Here is the vehicle as it was delivered to me: This thing is a beast, I’m very fortunate my garage has an extra tall door and nice tall ceiling. Well as you can see the vehicle was a bit dirty but nothing a good wash can’t cure. NO pictures of the washing process but it was a two bucket method with my pressure washer…it’s so nice washing with the pressure washer :thumb: Well after the vehicle was washed it was brought in my garage and considering the vehicle was going to be modeling it’s lift I decided to remove each tire to make sure the vehicle looks as sharp as possible. Here is me removing the very large and very heavy tires: This is a good test, to see how well my wheel well washing method is. Here what the wheel well looks like after going through my cleaning process during the washing stage: Here is the tire off: The inside of the rim needed some extra cleaning: That’s better. Since I have the rims off I figured might as well protect them, for this I went with:  I’m back in action with DG :thumb: I used a small foam pad to apply: Well now that the rim is all take care off, the tire is dressed…which took quite a bit of product. Now it was time to insure the wheel well complete with shocks, coils and other bits are well cleansed. I decided to dress the wheel well with Meg’s #40: Here is the end results of the effort put on the wheel wells: Well that takes care of one wheel, I put the tire back on and made sure to properly tighten the nuts with: Here is how the end results looked like: Well that’s one of four, moving on to the rear now, here is before: After: Well the process was carried out to all wheel wells, tires and rims. The wax of choice on this Jeep was Victoria Concourse (Red one). These Jeeps have lots of exterior plastic trims, so all plastic trims were dressed with Black WOW. Glass received Stoners Invisible Glass with a glass micro fiber towel and here are the end results: DG gave the rims that extra bling best part they are now well protected :thumb: Well that completes this detail, best part I got to drive the vehicle to where it was to be displayed. Considering the lift and the size of tire it handles quite well and so high of the ground…I thought my SUV was tall, made my SUV look short :giggle: Well hope you enjoyed it.
Great job as always Carlos. Much easier to work on the wheels when they are off I would guess. This is the first time seeing you take the wheels off, do you think that will become a regular part of your regimen or just for special cases? I ask because I have yet to do this but have thought about it a lot.
Thank you for the feed back, I agree this thing is mean...not for me but nice to look at  Well it's not something I'd want to do to every vehicle I detail but it depends on the vehicle and the situation, meaning if the vehicle is going to a show I'll definitely be removing the rims. I just made sure to read the proper torque speck for this vehicle...actually I got my friend/owner to phone the manufacture who installed the lift to find out the proper torque.
Wow, looking intense! Clean wheels wells always make such a big difference. Personally, I don't have a hydrolic jack or axle stands or I'd be taking my wheels off as well for a good cleaning. I would hate for the vehicle to drop when I was working on it... Very nice work, impressive!
Nice work, Carlos! This thing was huuuuuge! I like the way Megs #40 looks on wheel wells, I never though of using it there.
Great detail Nica, It looks like you really worked hard for this one. I've always been partial to the Jeep brand. I think I would have left the white letters out to break up some of that black but It still looks great none the less...:thumb:
I agree, I was all paranoid with a rim off, so I used all my stands in all appropriate points on the vehicle..just to be safe. I agree, removing the rims is the only way to detail wheel wells and it truly does make a huge difference to the appearance of the vehicle. I plan on doing the same to my vehicles...as soon as I'm all caught up with all the details I have to do. I've used Meg's #40 in the past on wheel wells and I too was impressed with the end results so I figured why not use it on this application and it turned out great  yes, I had to work for this one, these tires are really heavy, I broke a sweat when putting the tires back :thud: I too was thinking the white letters would have been better but I'm not the owner  Thank you Denzil, glad you enjoyed it eace: Yes, the spare is a must...if I remember correctly the owner said it's on route. Thank you guys, glad you enjoyed it :hippie:
Carlos..when I saw you take off the wheels I thought to myself..oh boy, I hope he torques them right. I was glad to see you got the specs. I rotate the wheels on my wife's car and change my winter and summer wheels over so I'm removing the wheels a few times a year. You have to have a torque wrench to do it as I see you do. A question for you: What product is Megs #40? I don't see a #40 listed on their site??? It looks good..how would you compare it to Adams? Oh..and great job on the jeep, btw!!
 I never knew how critical proper torque is to a vehicle when re-installing tires, specially ones that have such lifts. That's why I made the owner find out the exact torque requirement. As for comparing #40 with Adams, can't really say because I've never used Adams :sorry:
Taking the wheels off to clean the wells made such a big difference! Really highlights the lift now...well done!
 yes it truly did make a huge difference on the lift installed on this Jeep. Best part was that as soon as I dropped the vehicle off where it was to be displayed several people came over to admire the vehicle :thumb: It was fun to watch people flock over the Jeep.
