Let me start this thread off by saying this: THIS IS THE WORST CAMERA I HAVE EVER USED. I lost my regular one (found it 2 days later), and none of the pictures were altered after they were taken. The hues are completely off, the only ones that finally worked properly were the garage shots. The rest are just kinda to blue or too red, but the reflections still look alright. They camera would mess up with the tiniest shake and I forgot a tripod, so I apologize for the quality. Now onto the detail. I had a couple days to work on this, as the owner was on vacation and I had a big garage to work in and a drain outside :applause2: I loved this car, I kept admiring the lines as I was buffing off the wax or polish. Silver/Black is one sexy ass combo. However, I didn't mean I like the rims black(And of course the shit camera didn't capture it)! They were extremely black, because the owner had the windshield scratched at a car wash and hasn't been to one since :thud: The car only had 2900 miles on it. Wash: Meguiar's Gold Class Sheepskin Wash Mitt Two Bucket Method w/ Grit Guard Meguiar's Wheel Brightener Meg's APC+ on lower panels/bumper 0000 steel wool and Meg's Metal Polish Riccardo Yellow Clay + Final Inspection Cut 1:1 Paint Correction: Menz Power Gloss on PWF for spot correction Menz P203S / Uber Green Menz PO85RD/ Uber Blue Interior: Leather Masters Strong Cleaner Leather Masters Vital Conditioner Leather Masters Protection Cream Uber Blue Applicator Shop Vac Meg's APC+ Folex 303 Aerospace Wax: RBOE x2, 24 hours apart Uber Notched Red Applicator, heated with Halogens Misc: Various Wheel Brushes Various Uber and CG Microfibers, Rubbish Boys MFs Meg's UQW in all jambs 303 on trim Stoner's More Shine Tire Shine Poorboy's wheel sealant on rims x3 Stoner's IG on Windows Twin 500W Halogens First things first, rims and tires. What a PITA, this was baked on, but Meg's Wheel Brightener did a good job of taking it all off. Again, this camera sucked monkey balls. I just couldn't figure it out. The wheels were MUCH blacker than the pictures show, it was really brightening up everything for some reason. When I took pictures of the black interior it made it gray  No durings, I didn't want the WB to sit on the rims. 50/50: After, no PB Wheel Sealant yet. PB Sealant applied 3 times, no dressing yet: Ok, now time to start washing. Like I said, this hadn't seen the car wash in a long time, although it is garaged so it was dirty, just not extremely dirty. The car only had 2900 miles on it. Close up of the dirt: Unacceptable: After wash and clay: This is why I use the 2BM :thud: Quick interior, not much to do. The car was only 2900 miles old, just cleaned up the jambs, and used a crapload of leather products since that seemed to be the only material inside the car besides carpet. Now, onto the paint. It was IMPOSSIBLE to capture any swirls. I could only see them in the sun, the worst part was the bumper right under the trunk and even then I couldn't get them. Too much silver and metallic in the paint. They were there, and there was room for improvement. A couple rids too, I used Powergloss to get a couple of them off. RID: Gone: 1st Coat of RBOE applied, waited about an hour: Afters, some are after the 1st coat, some are after the 2nd: Looking good: Only sun I could get: Tails corrected too: Thanks for reading! :mounty: Comments, Criticism appreciated!
Yea, like I said, it wasn't my normal camera, it was a very old one. The slightest shake and nope, it's messed up. I took about 400 pics and only about 75 were decent, not even good. I know, ha is it bad that I prefer to buy new ones instead of washing my old ones :giggle:
love the hood reflection shot. nice job :thumb: i see you switched to megs WB for this one, run out of the EO? lol
Ha I actually almost always use Meg's WB. These rims needed it. BTW, I only use EO on the tires, I did on this car too :mounty: Thanks man :applause2:
Vehicle looks great, don't worry so much about the picture quality. Taking pictures can be time consuming and honestly it's always appreciated to have pictures included in a write up. I personally pay more attention to the products/techniques used then the pictures them selves. Pictures are just a visual thing, they are nice to see but you don't have to be a professional photographer to post a detail eace:
Ha, it was actually my first time that I figured how to use RBOE. I think I should have let it sit for longer, how long do you let it sit for? After an hour it felt the same as it had when I applied it. I actually missed a spot on a lower panel buffing off the wax and when I went to put the 2nd coat on 24 hours later, it still buffed off only slightly more difficultly. And yea, those Nike's are comfy. I have no idea how anyone can drag around heavy timberlands on their feet while detailing ha. Thanks for the compliment! Thanks Dana! Good to hear Nica, and yea I love to see what products people used too. I found my regular camera so the pictures will be clear again next time :applause2:
