Just completed and delivered today(2-16-2011) a tastefully modded 997 Turbo with suspension, Neez Rennsport Wheels, and Tech Art steering wheel.
The car had about 26,000 miles so I know the owner is enjoying the car(As he should). Here is the initial condition before the wash/clay steps were carried out.

The light finish hides quite a bit untill the right spectrum of light is cast upon it, some deep RIDS.

    Corrected.

    Roofline scuffs.

    Clarity restored.

Rare factory sand scratches(Did not see any evidence of a re-spray on the wing).

    Looking better.

    Entire wing corrected.

This deep RID(s) was corrected with the New Meguiars Compound and pad with two passes.

How do $40 steamers compare? Can they get grease like that clean? (don't flame me)

The short answer is no, a quality steamer will run 400.00 dollars and up I am afraid. The model I have is the Vapor Clean TR6.

Auto Glym Custom Wheel cleaner, P&S Beta product/brake buster or in many cases just dismount the wheel to get every part of the wheel and suspension.
