Well I received a phone call that another fire truck was waiting for me :cheerl: 2008 Fire Truck (pumper) Well this is what was waiting for me: The fuel tanks are always in rough shape  As you can see the interior, like previous trucks, is not is bad shape, just required a little attention that’s all. As for the exterior, that’s something that will require a bit more time. Well as always, got started with the interior. First gave the interior a thorough vacuum: Once that was done, I proceeded on giving the interior a complete wipe down, for this I used a Zymol brush, a yellow microfiber towel and eShines new APC Kleenol: Here is how the wipe down water looked like when I was done giving the interior the wipe down: Now that the interior had been given a wipe down it was time to dress the interior, for this I uses Meg’s #40: Well this takes care of the interior, now time to move on to the exterior. First up the wheel wells are sprayed with eShines new APC Kleenol: The rims are also sprayed down with Kleenol: Next were the tires: Within seconds Kleenol started to pull all the grime that was attached to the rims, tires and wheel wells, take a look: Well now it was time to give the wheel wells a good scrub with a Meg’s long handle brush: Next the rims were agitated with my Swissvax brush: To finish it off the tires were scrubbed with a Meg’s tire brush: Here is how all that scrubbing looked like at the end: This process is done to all the other wheel wells, rims and tires: Now that the shoes of the vehicle were done it was time to set up the CR unit and give the exterior a good wash: To wash the vehicle the two bucket method with grit guard is used, Meg’s Gold Class Shampoo and a Black ShMITT. This truck had lots of surface panels and washing it took quite a bit of time, once the entire truck was washed I first removed as much water as possible with the air compressor: Then with my waffle weaved micro fiber towels I removed what ever water remained: Next it was time to seal the truck, for this I went with the Duragloss combo, DG#601 followed up with DG#105: Once I completed applying the DG combo, I let it bond to the paint and wile it was bonding I finished a few items. Windows were cleansed with Stoners invisible Glass with a glass micro fiber towel. Tires were dressed with Optimum Tire. Exhaust tip was refined with Autosol and steel wool #0000. Applying the DG combo took quite a bit of time due to the size of this truck, to remove DG I used various Cookie Monsters: Well after 10hrs here is the end result: There no more bugs. :canada: Just love this emblem. Here are a few interior pictures but when I was done I could only rely on the lights in the warehouse and the pictures didn’t turn out so well :sorry: Well this truck took a bit longer then I was expecting but the end results were well worth it, hope you guys enjoy.
never thought bout that. who does? Awesome work though and like jason said you got these monsters down. How did you get the hook up with the fire dept.?
Thank you trhland, for the most part I'm the one taking the pictures but my wife usually comes by and brings me lunch and wile she's visiting I ask her to take some pictures and those are the ones she took. sure do, you have too. I remember the first fire truck I did, took me two days for a simple wash, I had no clue what to do, but after the first fire truck I refined and continue to refine my process and well the results are of what I've learned so far. My wife is the one that helps me with pictures, she some times surprises me with some of her pictures. She has no clue when it comes to taking pictures, she just does what I tell her to do As for how I landed the fire trucks, lets just say I have good friends in high places :giggle: Thank you sal, glad you enjoyed it. Yea..well I just can't say no to these toys, I'm like a kid in a candy store when I get a phone call :cheerl: Glad you enjoyed it eace: Thank you for the kind words, very much appreciated eace:
