Here is another fire truck but this time not so large, no complains here :thumb: 2008 F-550 XL Super Duty Now I have to admit this vehicle was in good conditions, here is what greeted me: As you can see the vehicle was in good conditions, just arrived to town and needed some taken care off. First off I started off with a good wipe down, for the wipe down I used Meg’s APC diluted 20:1 All vents and hard to reach received a Swissvax brush and finished off with air compressor. Once the entire interior had been wiped down it was time to dress the interior. For this Meg’s #40 is used: Windows were finished off with Stoners Invisible Glass and a glass micro fiber towel. Here is how the interior finished off: Sorry for the pictures but the lighting was throwing me off this time around…any who the detail continues. Once satisfied with the interior it was time to move on to the exterior. Like always the wheel wells are up first, for the wheel wells P21S Total Auto Wash is used: Rims received a healthy coat of P21S Gel: The tires received a good coat of ARO. Now it was time to give the wheel wells a good scrub, for this a Meg’s long handle brush is used: The rims were agitated with the help of a Swissvax brush: The tires were also given a good scrub: Once satisfied with all the scrubbing the wheel wells, tires and rims were given a good rinse. This process was done for all the rims, tires and wheel wells. Now it was time for the exterior, first up the CR unit is connected: Readings are 0PPM and still producing Deionized water, spotless wash ready to go :thumb: Got the two bucket system ready with Meg’s Gold Class Shampoo: Well once the entire truck had been washed as much water as possible was removed with the help of an air compressor. Followed up with a waffle weaved micro fiber towel to remove any water left over. The customer wanted the truck to be sealed so first up Duragloss #601: As you can see this was also applied on the exterior windows. Followed up with Duragloss #105: Again all window received a good coat of DG#105 Wile DG#105 was left to bond the tires were dressed with Optimum Tire, all exterior trim received a healthy coat of Black WOW. Now it was time to remove DG#105, for this several Cookie Monsters were used: Now for the end results: Well not a complete detail but I still had fun with this one. Well hope you enjoyed and sorry for the poor quality pictures, the lighting was really throwing me off today
the results - the results are stunning, as always Nica! Looks like you always do a wipedown on interior...Ever tried spraying a cleaner on the towel or MF applicator? I seem to use much less this way...
Thank you for the feed back, very much appreciated eace: Than you super :thumb: As for the wipe down, yes every single vehicle I touch gets a wipe down. This is just me but I feel that spraying a cleaner on a micro fiber towel and then wiping the interior like that doesn’t do as good of a job as using a bucket with a micro fiber towel and a Swissvax brush oh and the air compressor...but that's just me. This system works well for me and it gives me the results I'm happy with so I just keep using it...but like I said that's just me :crasy: Thank you for the feed back, the truck is brand new so that helped. As for the size, yes it's quite large but it turned out quite nice, glad you enjoyed it :chest:
Outstanding job on that Big Boy....:applause: It looks fantastic.... You know I need to get me some of them sprayer you have the P21s TAW in....
Great job Nica as usual. I too find it easier to use a bucket and wipedown method (which I got the idea from you) but I must admit I only do that on really bad interiors. But you are right it seems to much more effiecient and a makes for a cleaner interior. Love seeing these details.
Looks great as always. I guess you're the fire dep. "go to" guy now right. Is it from the same fire station as the ones you've done before or a different one?
Thank you Sparkie, glad you enjoyed it...I'm going to have to get the name of the bottles but here is a picture of them: See how they say "Pro" on them that apperently is the brand name Thank you P1et, glad you still enjoy these details eace: Thank you adriankeith glad you enjoye the details :thumb: Yes, all of the trucks are brand new so usually they only get a wash and wax, I've done one truck with a full detail..took me three days to do it but boy did it look good :thumb: Glad you enjoy the details JLs, as for the bucket method to be honest I got used to it now, so there's no going back for me  Thank you for the compliment 2KLS1, but all the fire trucks I do come from the same shop. This shop custom orders these trucks to fire stations. Thanks to DB Boss I was given the opportunity to detail one fire truck (I'll never forget the first truck I did) and well they were pleased with the service and well now I'm there go to guy :thumb: Like I said I'm quite fortunet to have good friends with good connections eace:
I would like to also add to the comment regarding wiping down the interior. I have both sprayed and wiped with a cleaner and have dunked a mf in a bucket containing a cleaner and I feel that using the bucket cleans more.
