2008 Audi A4 black - 2 step correction by Mr. Sparkle- Long Island

Client was referred to me by a BRZ owner who had Opti-Coat installed a few months earlier. He just recently had bought a 2008 A4 and he said he wanted the same thing his friend had. We booked it for a 2 step correction with Opti-Coat.

Upon arrival, it was clear this car had lived a hard life. Swirls, RIDS, and the paint felt rough. Started off with a wash, Car Pro Trix, and Speedy Prep Towel med grade (note: this did mar the paint a bit so I would hesitate to use it again unless I knew correction work was part of the process - it did make the decon step quick though)

After some test spots I found myself unable to remove a number of the deep random scratches, which were numerous.

Called the client and re-evaluated the plan. He just wanted it to look its best. I did not feel comfortable putting Opti-Coat on a car that would have so many leftover defects. I recommended a 2 step correction, glaze & wax instead of the coating. Client agreed, and saved himself a few bucks in the process. Goal was 80-90% correction

Hood & trunk lid: Flex 3401 + purple foamed wool + Menz FG400

Entire car including hood & trunk after PFW: Optimum MF Cutting Pad & Menz FG400

Polishing: LC White + Menz SF4000


Car was washed again (PFW made some mess) then glazed with Chemical Guys Black Light and Wolfgang Fuzion applied by hand (an "old fashioned")
