Client called about his black Porsche Carrera. It was a bit swirled up, with some water spots, and overall lacking gloss. Most importantly there were scuffs marks all around the body from a car cover. I provided some options and he chose a 1 step paint correction. Full correction was not the goal but the scuffs had to go and the gloss had to be restored.

Car was dropped off early on friday morning and by 8am I was getting my foam on

Treated the finish with CarPro TRIX then Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay.

A look at what the clay was picking up

Spent a couple minutes taking paint measurements. No major inconsistencies (no indications of any repainted panels). Most of the measurements were between 90-100 microns. I did find a couple spots that were a bit more on the thin side though

Then a few more minutes taping off all the trim. Had to use the fine line tape in some spots

Gave the paint a good inspection and saw what I was up against.

Swirls and water spots (disregard my finger smudge from taping the emblem)

And those scuff marks from the car cover. This was all around the body.

Did some test spots and eventually settled on

Flex 3401 + LC Tangerine + Menzerna Power Finish

(reminder - full correction was not in the budget - doing my best with a 1 step)

Got down to business and started working my way around the car.

Here I am sitting on the job

Driver side before (scuffs marks obvious here)

    After

Got to the rear end and found the taillights also responded well to the tangerine / power finish combo

Had to use the 3 inch pad to get into these areas (guess this is not a true 'ducktail' but not sure what else to call this area on the porsche)

More scuffs on the passenger side

A look again at that fender I showed earlier

After under the LED lights (scuffs gone now)

Impressive reflections with the shop lights on

After polishing I dressed the trim with Ultima Trim & Tire Guard

50/50 on the trim (yes I know the 'after' should be on the right side - maybe next time)

Protected the paint with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant then took some photos in the garage

Car sat overnight in the garage as it was raining out. In the morning it was pulled out for a few quick sun shots

I even caught one of my neighbors stunned by the shine

It all takes place in the Mr. Sparkle garage here in south shore Long Island...
