    Lovely truck:

    2006 Nissan Titan 5.6LE

Well you guys have seen all those fire trucks I’ve been fortunate to detail, well the owner of that business phoned me up asking to have his truck detailed. More then happy to do it.

Right then on with the show, well this is what greeted me:
At a first glance it looked okay nothing too bad, owner gave it a quick rinse :thumb:

Well nothing out of the ordinary, I mean it’s a truck it’s supposed to look that way. Besides owner said it has never been cleaned and I do enjoy a good challenge. Now the owner wanted the interior done, as it really needed it and just wanted the exterior protected and a good sealant applied to it to get it through the winter, at first I was a bit sad I wouldn’t get to polish it but owner said I’d be polishing soon enough :thumb:

Well I started off with the interior, removed all carpets and personal belonging from the vehicle:
They needed a good cleaning

Then got my vacuum ready and went to work:

Once I had successfully picked up as much as I could with the vacuum it was time to give the interior the wipe down:
For the wipe down I used Meg’s APC diluted 10:1, my Swissvax brush for the vents like so:
The yellow Costco microfiber towel oh and I’ve now incorporated the air compressor in my interior regiment, to completely get the vents cleaned as they should be:
Also to blow all the debris that gets in between the hard to reach gaps/crevasses.

Well once I had completed the wipe down this is how the water looked:
Quite the sight huh, well interior was quite dirty.

Once the wipe down was complete I moved on to the carpet, oh I couldn’t wait to get to the carpet, got my new toy Mytee extractor and first got to work on the floor mats:
Once the floor mats were done I went and took care of the carpet inside the truck, now what I used for the carpet I used Meg’s APC. I’m still searching for a product to use for carpets but I got a few coming and look forward on using them. Meg’s APC came through tough, it got the job done and when it was time to dump the water this was quite the sight:
Well the water muddy and it just looked bad, not sure the picture captured it properly due to a bit of foam but non the less it was quite a sight oh and I love my new toy :applause:
I’m so glad I invested on the Mytee oh and makes cleaning carpet so easy now…okay moving along.

Once the carpet was done it was time to dress the interior, for this I used Optimum Protection Plus:
I’m quite pleased with this product, such a nice natural look oh and the smell is starting to grow on me too lol.

Well I applied it quite generously on all plastic/vinyl panels:
I removed with another Costco yellow microfiber towel, these towels work great on interior.

All that was left was to take care of the glass which I used Stoners Invisible Glass and my Thief Glass Towel, I’ve been using this combo for quite a bit now and I’m very pleased with it.

Oh the vehicle had leather seats and I’ve been curious about this. Well I’ve been reading and Optimum Protection Plus says that it can be used on leather a well, well I applied it on all the leather seats, I had previously given the leather sits a wipe down with just plain hot water. Once the leather was cleaned I sprayed the Optimum Protection Plus, let it sit for a bit and then removed with the Costo microfiber towel and well the results weren’t what I was expecting. So last time I try that, don’t get me wrong it gave the leather a nice mate look but it did nothing to bring the leather back to life, you know that nice moist look that I get from Lexol Spary Leather Conditioner…but it’s not really fair to compare the two as they are different products completely, but I can at least say I’ve tried it and didn’t like it.

Well interior was finally done. Here are some before and after to help illustrate the difference:

Here are some random pictures of the interior nice and clean:

Oh and here is a picture of the leather seat:
I don’t know, I just didn’t like it, but that’s just my opinion.

Well once the interior was done it was time to work on those rims, tires and wheel wells. Got my tools ready:

Well first gave all the rims, tires and wheel wells a good rinse with just regular water, then I first sprayed P21S Total Auto Wash on the wheel wells:

Then sprayed P21S Gel formula on the interior of the rims along with the exterior of the rims:
Made sure to get all the way inside the rims.

On to the tires and what works best on tires then Amazing Roll-Off (ARO for short):

Sprayed a good healthy amount on the tires.

Now it was time to use my long reach brush and agitate the P21S Total Auto Wash on the wheel wells:

Then to get all the way inside the rims I used my EZ brush:
Agitated the P21S Gel formula on the inside of the rims making sure to reach all the way inside the rims.

Now with the help of my Swissvax brush, I agitated the face of the rims:

Finally gave the tires a good scrub with my Meg’s tire brush and this is how the end result looked like:
It was ready to be rinsed off:

This process was done to all tires, rims and wheel wells. Once that was out of the way it was time to wash the rest of the truck. To wash the truck I went with Meg’s Gold Class Shampoo, two bucket method and my Zymol sponge. Oh and I brought out my CR Spotless System to play (aka dionized water).

Once the vehicle had been completely washed it was time to clay the truck, since I wasn’t going to be polishing the truck I decided to go with Ricardo clay bar
    [IMG]
Oh yes my good friend Calgarydetail phoned me up and decided to pay me a visit. Well since he was there might as well put him to work right:
I know, I know, the guy just got back from holidays and I put him to work…that’s what friends are for right lol. Teasing thank you for helping out Calgary, it was good to chat with you and hear about your trick, wile you we were claing the truck.

Well wile claying look what I found:

Yup, a few spots of tar. Nothing to worry about though as I have lots of:
Oh yes never leave home with out a few cans of Tarminator…oh and sorry for the blurry picture, I took the picture with out the tri pod  who knew the tri pod was so powerful.

Well sprayed the tar with terminator and check this out:
Instantly Tarminator is working it’s magic and Tarminator = 1 – tar = Nil

Well washed off the tar and truck was now ready to be dried off. To dry the truck I first used the air compressor to blow off as much water as possible:
Once I went around the entire truck it was time to remove what ever water remained with my Dehydrator Drying Towel:

Well it was time to protect the truck, for this I went with the Duragloss tag team:
In this order too, right to left that is.

First I applied, by hand the help of a Meg’s applicator Polish Bonding Agent 601 all over the truck, didn’t even remove it. Just a plied and left it on.

Then with another Meg’s applicator I followed it up with Total Performance Polish 105 all over the truck oh and even applied it on the rims too:

I let the 105 sit for a bit and I finished the tires off with some Optimum Tire Shine, good stuff. In fact I finished off the gallon container I had, time to order some more:

With the help of a Tornado Buffing Towel and Aquawax 951 I removed DG105 and here are the end results. Well lets start with the rims, tires and wheel wells with a before and after:

    Before:

    After:

Here are how the rest looked like:

Rims had a nice glow to them with some DG105.

Okay now for some reflection shots:

Great work and awesome writeup Carlos! I wish I could find the time to take pictures and do a writeup like that!

Is that a Mytee Spyder extractor you are using? If so, that is the same one I use and I love it.
You should check out Prochem products for carpets, I've been using them for about a year now and have been really happy with the results. They work so much better than an APC.

Do you detail on the side or do you have a business?

Like Juztang said check out the prochem line.

BTW Grouse is the carpet master. He can help you with anything when it comes to carpets.

:thumb: Great work as always Carlos, Love see the interior being cleaned, sometimes we forget that the interior is just as important as the exterior.:woot: For the DG 601 and 105 you can apply 105 right over 601 without buffing it off? One more question, where can I get those Pump and Spray Bottles. They look pretty sweet.:thumb:

Sweet work on that Titan :D. My friend had one but this van ran a red light and pretty much messed up the whole front end of his truck..pretty sad, but he got an Armada after that which is also a sweet vehicle :). That's really cool how you pictured the chemicals spraying out of those sprayers, reminds me of those slow motion videos I see on Myth Busters lol.

I thought you disliked the look of your finished pedals, they look good to me! Glad you got to break in the new Mytee. You will never go back to the "old method" now.

Thanks for taking the time to document your work and to share it with us.

Thank you trhland, glad you enjoyed it

Thank you Smith2287, very much appreciate the feed back. Glad you don't find it long and borring :thumb:

Thank you Juztang and your right it takes a bit of time doing the write up and getting piking and choosing the pictures. I enjoy taking pictures lol can you tell lol, but taking the pictures is not a problem is once I'm done and putting it all together that's the hard part lol. I enjoy doing it though, but to be honest I got the ideas from the UK guys, man they have some wicked writeups :headbang:

As for the extractor, I got the Mytee HP-60 oh yes it is the Spyder extractor. Prochem you say, mmm I wonder if this is the one that Grouse recomended, I'll look into it thank you for the tip. I didn't really want to use the APC but I honestly have nothing else, so I really need to start ordering some chemicals for carpet, can't wait.

As for me detailing, yes I have a business now but I do during my spare time. There's no way I'm giving up my day job lol...I enjoy my day job just as much as I enjoy detailing :joint:

Thank you gmblack3 for the feed back and glad you enjoyed it.

Grouse gave me a list of goodies to try out and I passed that list over to my home boy Chris  hopefully he will be getting me the chemicals that Mr. Grouse recommended. I hear he's the guru on interior  I just think his funny hahaha teasing Grouse but serioiusly I'm going ot follow his recomendation

Oh and two votes for Prochem..I can't recall if this is what Grouse recommended :shead:

Thank you Racer, glad you enjoyed it. I just wished I could have polished it :acry2: but oh well, I'm sure I'll be polishing it soon.

Thank you vrwm for the feed back and glad you enjoyed it. I spend a lot of time in the interior, I try to make it as good as the exterior...you know so they match lol. As for the DG yup, I'm enjoying using these products most of all there durability is what got my attention and it sure gives off a nice gloss too.

The bottles I use are have the PRO name on them, I'm guessing they are manufactured by PRO  I purchase them localy, they aren't cheap :shakehead: no sir, but they sure come in handy. I purchase them from a store called Carlson Body Shop Supply...um...something like that, unfortunetly they don't have a website other wise I'd post up a link for you sorry :peace:

Thank you pirex for the feed back bro :chest: Oh man the extractor did an incredable job with the carpet I love it. Glad you enjoyed the pictures :headbang:

Thank you Pats300zx, truck turned out quite nice...would have been better if I polished it up but soon I'll be able to polish it...can't wait :hippie:

Thank you for the feed back.

Glad you enjoyed the write up oh and glad you found it informative. Oh yea, I've been reading as much as I can on the new camera and I love it...glad you noticed the difference..still lots for me to learn but I'll get there :chris:

Thank you klumz for the feed back, I agree tehse trucs are quite nice those Armada's are nice too :thumb:

Glad you enjoyed the pictures, actually I got the idea from the Myth Busters lol I was watching it the day before the detail and I started reading on the manual on how to do it. Man it's cool knowing what your doing lol...I mean not just fluke out like I have been doin in the past lol.

Thank you DLR :thumb: as for the pedals I always miss a corner on them :wall: I scrub them and always forget to double check them  you'd think I'd remember to double check them. Thank you for the kind words my friend very much appreciated :peace:

Thank you Rocco, glad you enjoyed it :thumb:

Another awesome detail as usual. Man I love logging on and seeing you have a new detail up! Not only are your details great but your write ups are always so informative. You know all of your interiors should be as bad or worse than this one. You do such a bang up job on the interiors that you need the tough ones and leave all the cupcake interiors for the rest of us that aren't nearly as adept at interiors as you are!

All of your work is great but man your interiors leave me in awe. I only hope to be able to get to yours and Dust2Glory's level when it comes to interiors.

vrwm yes you apply the 105 right over the 601 without buffing off the 601. And I know that US plastics sells the Pump and Spray bottles. I have one that I bought from a local detailing shop and I love it.

Thank you crossroad, oh man the Mytee is the BOMB!!! It's wicked, the first time I used it too and man I was like a kid with a new shiny toy, so easy to use and I got good results too oh but the best part is that cleaning the carpet is so easy it's wicked...I love it. I was telling Calgary how I used to do the interior and I felt like a caveman lol.

Thanks for all the info you provided me on the Mytee and letting me try yours :thumb: you the man crossroad :chest:
