This car took me a while - about 9 hours. Sorry I don't have before shots (as usual) but it was in rough shape, really rough. Scratches and swirls everywhere, as though it had been taken through nasty car washes throughout it's short life! I don't have any interior shots, but after cleaning and shampooing the carpets and leather, I treated everything with Zymol Leather Conditioner. On the outside, I used Car Brite Gray Stik, then started to tape everything off. Taping alone took about 45 minutes. I started with Black Pearl 04 using an 8" Yellow foam pad from Car Brite with my Dewalt. Following that, I wiped everything down then went for another round with the Dewalt, this time using the 3M Ultrafina with the 3M Ultrafina 8" pad. After all that was done, I finished it all off with Zymol HD Cleanse Professional, Zymol Ital, and then Zymol Field Glaze. The wheels I treated with the Zymol Wheel Coat.
I looooovvvvveeeee this car. The side vents are just soooo sexy! My parent's financial planner has a Gullwing!
Thanks guys! It was alright working on it.. Only thing is there's more paint to work on than most cars I deal with! lol The customer was really happy when he saw it, and didn't even want to drive it home, so he tossed the keys to his gf and he drove the Jeep home hahahaa Made my day!
wow that's my all time favorite car right there...soooo sexy.... how did you manage to get into the "gills?" outstanding job mang! :thumb:
Very carefully lol Some areas I worked delicately with the power polisher, mostly just with the Ultrafina. Other than that, I just let some of those areas for the HD Cleanse Pro and the Ital.
I agree these vehicles are impresive, I saw one in person and boy are they ever impresive :druling: 9hrs man that's fast :thumb: just the hood I can imagine it taking some time, these vehicles are miss leading they don't look that big but they really are and with all those sexy curves they would be a blast to detail :cheerl: :cheerl: Vehicle looks great, thank you for sharing with us.
Well, the other day I spent 7hours on a black 98 A4 - just on the paint. With the 9hrs into it, when a customer is paying what they do at our shop, I do my best not to take my sweet time!
That's something I never expected to hear! I thought afterwards that I shouldn't have doddled around and had it done quicker! lol
