I posted this detail on another site as well and i wanted to share it with my fellow DBers... Ok guys, now that the warmer weather is here...it is finally detailing season! I figured i would start off the season with a good light polishing My ride was in great shape to start with, winters around my parts are not snowy at all, maybe one time all winter... 1. I started off with a wash with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss. 4 ounces for 2 gallons of water for a paint cleansing ratio. 2. The tires got Meg's APC+ cut 4:1 and a stiff brush. 3. Wheels got Amazing Roll Off and Chemical Guys Blue Citrus Wheal and Rim Cleaner cut 3:1. 4. Wheel Wells got Hyperdressing cut 4:1 5. Glass received D-Line GC concentrate 10:1. 6. All trim was protected with 303 Aerospace Protectant. After the wash... Chemical Guys gray light duty clay and Last Touch Detailer cut 1:1. Polishing was then done on the Flex 3401 with a white polishing Lake Country 6.5" pad and Menzerna 106ff. I absolutely love this polish! I then proceeded to my sealant of choice: CG JetSeal 109 I topped that off with Chemical Guys 50/50 Tires dressed with CG Xtreme Shine and wheels sealed with NXT 2.0 All feedback is welcome!
Agreed! I'm a huge fan of perfectly detailed wheel wells & undercarriages. I think this is a critical portion of most vehicles (trucks & SUV's especially) that the average detailer simply overlooks. Of course nobody worthy of DB membership misses details such as this... Nice work on the F150! I'd love to see more pictures.
Thanks guys! wheel wells can ruin an otherwise great detail...thats why they are my favorite..it can set me apart from others in town...i found a couple more of the wheel wells..let me know if yall have any suggestions that i could make them look better
Ya know Nica, im not really sure..it is odd to say the least. I detailed a truck here in town that has an 8" rize lift kit on it and 37" tires that had a lot of clearance in the wells..obviously haha...and they really really dont look that great with the pattern showing that much..i got them spick and span too, and i was disappointed because when they are clean the pattern really comes out and takes away from the overall look of the area... :shakehead:
