As the title of the thread states this "Avus Silver" S4 was riddled with hard water etch, along with some RIDS and marring. After the decon/wash steps were carried out the car was brought into the shop to commence the work. Some examples of the spotting. 50/50 pic of etching on the sunroof. 50/50 on the trunklid. More hard water etch. Removed..........finally. Water spot removing gel applied to the glass. "B" pillars not looking thier best. After a few passes with compound. Tedious re-applications of the gel.....................until all the etch was removed. Gel doing it's thing, even the very edge of the side windows had spotting...................maybe the window was down slightly when the sprinkler with re-claimed water did this Audi in. Spots removed. Daily driver for the client now looking "As new" again.
Great work Bob! If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to remove all the spotting from the glass?
Great work as usual Bob! Car came out looking top notch after all that water spotting. I will say though for such a beautiful car, different wheels might do it more justice, maybe I'm just high off turkey right now and have clouded judgement.
Took too long.............Mike, and yes some BBS tightness would be a better choice(LM-R, CH-R) comes to mind. Two more incoming RS4 Audi's in the same color when I have time as I am booooooked(Phantom black pearl) Phil of course knows this as he owns a S4 but the RS4 is such a easy car to drive as I had to deliver the one car for some clearfilm work 15 miles away and it shifts smooth and had good power plus I really like the steering assist........light but not twitchy..............Audi tightness. :thumb:
Great work removing all that hard water etching, it's a tedious job. Horrible wheels by the way, just goes to show that sometimes you just cannot top OEM.
