This vehicle belongs to a good friend of mine, the vehicle: 2003 Jeep Liberty Now this detail was very interesting, that’s because I had help from my friend calgarydetail. It was a good tag team. On with the detail. Now what we were up against: Well nothing that calgarydetail and I couldn’t handle. So we started with the interior, now I’ve never had help before so this was new to me. I did the wipe down on the vehicle and calgarydetail got started with the vacuum. For the wipe down I used Meg’s APC diluted 10:1 with a Costco towel and the Swissvax brush along with other brushes. This is how the water looked like at the beginning: Here is the water after the wipe down: As I finished the wipe down calgarydetail completed vacuuming the vehicle and it was time to get the Mytee out and take care of the carpet. Now again tag team at work, calgarydetail took care of the carpet and I protected all vinyl and plastic peaces. Here is calgarydteail hard at work: (sorry for the blurry picture, he wouldn’t stand still) Now to protect the interior I used Optimum Protection Plus: I used the yellow Costco towels to remove. Now it usually takes me 4hrs to do an interior with calgarydetail and it only took us 2hrs to do the full interior, that’s wicked. Here are some pictures to help illustrate the difference we made: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Some random interior pictures: Now that the interior was done it was time to start on the rims. Since calgarydetail brought his Swissvax collection to play we he mixed up some Swissvax Wheel with his Swissvax mixing bottle: First calgarydetail applied the Swissvax Wheel mixture on the rims: Now this Swissvax Wheel is interesting, it has a mint smell but it reminded me of Zymol wheel gel (I think that’s what it’s called) but with less foam. Then calgarydetail said he uses ARO on the wheel wells: With the help of a long reach brush, the wheel wells were agitated. ARO was also used on the tires. Now I’ve never used ARO on the wheel wells and it worked well, but I still prefer P21S Total Auto Wash. Then with the help of the EZ brush, calgarydetail agitated the Swissvax Wheel: With the Meg’s wheel brush it was time to agitate the tire: All the tires, rims and wheel wells were done this way, calgarydetail and I we both did two tires each. Sure made quick work of the work. On to the rest of the vehicle. To wash the rest of the vehicle we used Swissvax Car Bath with the two bucket method and I used the Zymol sponge and calgarydetail used the white ShMITT. Oh and we connected the CR System for that spot free wash. Once we completed washing the vehicle and gave it a good rinse it was time to clay the vehicle. We went with our friend Ricardo Clay bar. Now for clay lube, I used Pinnacle Clay lube calgarydetail used this: Now I’ve never hear off this stuff and I noticed one thing about it. Everywhere calgarydeail clayed and used this product when it was time to rinse the surface was actually beading it was odd. Well claying the vehicle was fast: Once the claying was done gave the vehicle a quick rinse and time to dry it. To dry it I used the air compressor wile calgarydetail used the Dehydrator Drying Towel. Once the vehicle was dry calgarydetail wanted to play with the paint gauge, I told him to go wild and he did, you’ll see what I mean: Here is a graph using the PosiSoft of all the readings calgarydetail took: Now this vehicle had a very generous clear coat with an average of 208microns :thumb: That was day one, I had to take the family to the movies that day so we didn’t finish the vehicle. The next day, I went in to finish the vehicle. I wanted to polish the vehicle but the owner didn’t really care for it, he just wanted it to be protected for the winter. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing this one come spring though as I know the owner quite well. So on with the show: I applied them in that order left to right with the help of some Meg’s foam pads and removed with some Tornado Buffing Towels. Oh yes rims also got some DG 105. Now this vehicle has lots of exterior trim and it was perfect to use: Now his product is wicked Before: After: Here is a 50/50: Well the pictures speak for them selves. I got no streaking, just went on and stayed on. Now it was time to finish off the tires, to dress them I used: Before: After: The other tires: Here are some pictures of the vehicle completed and ready for delivery: Well the first vehicle tag team detail, hope you enjoy it. As always feed back is always appreciated. Hope you enjoyed it.
Great work guys. Man Jeeps do love the Black Wow! I've never done a detail with someone, well except my 4 year old son and I'm sure Calgary is faster than him! Bet you didn't know what to do with all the time you saved huh Nica. Paint and the entire vehicle looks really great!!
Carlos, I am very impressed. Two things: I need that Optimum Tire Shine and some Black WOW wouldn't be a bad thing either. Excellent work!!!
Great teamwork guys!! Looks like the Jeep turned out great. We used some of the FK1 tonight on Mikes car, very interesting product.
Thank you Wolf, it was fun detailing with calgary. It was nice to have someone to chat with and I found it kept a good speed, no loosing momentum what's so ever. Oh there was lots of time left over, actually we all went out for sushi itw as the least I could do for all the help calgary provided. Thank you P1et, glad you enjoyed it. I'm very pleased with Optimum Tire Shine actualy I'm all out, I went through that gallon I got it..can you beleave that :what: but to be honest those fire trucks take a lot to cover :rollinglaugh: :rollinglaugh: As for Black WOW, man I see why they call it WOW it truly works great, I was telling Chris to ge me a bigger bottle lol he said he was going to look in to it. lol..thanks JohnyB :thumb: glad you enjoyed it. Thank you crossroad, I don't know that FK1 is odd, it threw me off...I mean it's really slick and maybe a little to slick for my taste I jut didn't feel as though the clay bar was grabing anything...it was but it just felt weird that's all oh and the beading part really threw me off Thank you Juztang :chest:
hah i think your 4yr old would be faster.. lol j.k. It was alot of fun, thanks for the invite nica. Ohh and one corection it was swissvax washnot zymol.. but hey its all good lol and thanks for dinner... i was so full after i had tourble walking
No need to thank you me I should be the one thank you buddy  What was the stuff that we used on the rims called again? I looked it up on the Swissvax website and that's all I could find but I wasen't sure Oh I know wha you mean about not being able to walk after the dinner hahahaha I was stuffed good food though :thumb: Wait wich product did I mix up? The one for the rims or the one to wash the vehicle? I got both names from the webiste but I wasen't sure
opps my mistake. i read it wrong. I thought you said we used the zymol wash not the swissvax... just read it wrong.. sorry and i think the stuff we used on the wheels was what you had.. i dunno its in my car... but it worked well. I liked it.
Oh okay I wasen't sure, as for the stuff on the rims yes I agree it worked very well and the smell was nice too :thumb: I wonder if you can get it in gallons
Hey guys! That jeep looks really sweet!! I'd kill to have someone close to detail with. That would be so awesome. I think the closest one would be about an hour and a half away from me. It would be really cool to work with a pro. I'd love to learn some tricks of the trade.
Very nice job boys A quick question, how do you like the swissvax wheel cleaner and the swissvax car bath?
Looking at vehicles you are detailing, Nica, weather conditions are pretty rough in Canada... But you did an amazing job detailing that Jeep. You too, Calgary detail!
Wow, your interior went from Grey to Beige LOL. Carlos, many clay lubes have waxes in them, some companies have products that double as a QD or Spray Wax. Our Riccardo Clay lube also beads afterwards.
Great job Carlos and Calgary....Jeep looks like it just rolled off the show room floor... The Black WOW is a great product...I have brought back some of the worse trim seen ..back to looking new with WOW.... the DG combo used is one of my best combos for durability and looks...so far its just doing great for the winter here...just a spray rinse at the spray wand wash with just rinse water gets it clean.... Also I need to talk to you about the Mytee HP 60 ..I am getting one soon...my son wants to start up a little buisness and wants and extractor... AL
