Hi All! First time poster, long time lurker. I'm usually on the car forums (quattroworld, audizine, etc). I recognize some names here from the other forums! Anyways, I do detailing on the side and thought I'd share my detail from yesterday.

The Golf hadn't been detailed in about 2 years. I was surprised that the clay bar wasn't worse. Only the hood, lower rocker panels and trunk were the worst areas, as expected. Every where else was pretty good, surprisingly. The paint had a slight haze to it (see pics) which was easily corrected. The paint came out awesome, nice deep color to it now vs before where it was hazed and a bit dull. Put in about 8 hours time and the results show! Looks awesome for a 7 year old car!

    Tools Used:

    Boar's hair wheel brush
    Spoke brush
    Flex 3401
    Clay
Foam Master w/ Adam's Car Wash
Menzerna PO203S w/ Uber Green Pad
Menzerna PO85rd w/ Uber Blue Pad
    Menzerna FMJ
    Optimum Opti-Seal
    P21S Wheel Gel
    P21S TAW
    Adam's Detail Spray
    Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel
    Uber MF Towels
    Uber Waffle Weave Drying Towel

Half/Half on the hood, left side is hazed, right side had one pass of PO203S:

Tape removed, see hazing where the tape was:

Left side un-polished (notice paint isn't as deep compared to later):

thats funny that you did yours this past weekend. I have a 00 Golf GLS, in silver. I spent about 10 hours on mine, not rushing, and split between two days. First time I detailed mine, couldn't believe how hard the clear is on those things. Silver was also a pain for me, hard to see the contrast after polishing. Your car looks good!! You like the rubber your rollin on? What lowering kit is that you have on there, I really like your stance.

Thanks guys! The Golf is actually not mine, haha. It's my clients' wife's car. The Audi A4 in the rear left quarter panel reflection is his and is DIRTY...will be going back in a few weeks to detail that one. I forsee another all day project. The Audi reflection in the 5th picture is my A4 (which I still haven't detailed because I've been busy detailing everyone else!).

mrgolfrider...I believe the tires he's got are Bridgestone Potenza RE070s. It does have suspension work done to it but forget what it was. The engine was stroked to a 2.1L from a 1.9, custom software, bigger turbo. Putting out about 375whp and still gets great gas mileage!
