A good friend of mine bought this BMW last week and brought it right over for a full days work in an attempt to get the paint looking as close to perfect as we could get ... within reason. The car showed up fairly dirty, covered with swirls, RIDS and a few deep scratches. Total, we have about 9 hours on the car today, splitting the work up, starting with him on interior and myself on exterior, then eventually both of us on exterior. We still have a few things to finish up next weekend, we were both beat after today, so we called it quits around 8:30pm.

    Products used:

    Machines:

    Flex 3401
    PC 7336
    Griots 3" DA

    Wheels:

    1Z W99-tires
    P21S TAW-wheel wells
    Sonax FE-wheels
    EZ Wheel brush
wheels dressed with Prima Infinity (love this stuff)

    Interior:

    1Z Cockpit Premium
    1Z Teifenfleger
    Zaino Z-9
    Zaino Z-10

    Exterior:

    Meguires Gold Class shampoo
    Mothers clay

    M105
    1Z green can
    1Z red can
    Klasse AIO
    Zaino Z-6
    Zaino Z-5
    Meguires MF cutting pads
    LC orange pads
    LC white pads
    LC red pads

This is how the car looked this morning. 11 year old paint looking..... well, 11 years old. Previous owner took pretty good care of the car, the interior was spotless, so no pics taken.

Plenty of damage and swirls showing with the sun beating down on it.

Into the garage and time to take the new Flex for a spin. I will admit, I was a little intimidated with it at first. Its huge compared to the PC, and twice the weight, or at least it feels like it. I started with a white pad and 1Z green can just to get the feel of it. 20 minutes and a few panel experiments later and I was charging it with a Meg. MF pad and M105. The Flex has amazing cutting power, but the paint tends to feel warm to the touch, not hot, just a little warm. I'm not used to that with the PC, so I took my time getting used to using it and didnt venture past speed 4 today.

    M105 and 1Z green can.

Sorry for not taking more progress pics, I need to learn to take time and get those shots in the future. The entire car got M105 with a MF cutting pad, followed by 1Z green can with a white LC pad and Flex on 4, then 1Z red can with a black pad and Flex on 3. Then Klasse AIO with a red pad, PC on 4 and finally sealed with Zaino Z-5 , red pad and PC on 4. The Flex cut my time in half, I felt like I was flying through the steps. Very happy with it so far.

On to the final shots. It was early evening, but still pretty good light out for final pics. The car definitely changed colors throughout this detail. We were both super happy with it at the end of day 1.

Next weekend will be a wash and second layer of Z-5. Followed by headlight and tail light correction as well as some trim pieces that we were just too tired to get to tonight.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Any suggestions or comments are always appreciated.

He had told me it is Sienna Red Metallic. I don't think I've ever seen that color until yesterday, but it's beautiful when it was all finished.

Yes, I don't think it's released just yet. I've been testing a bottle for Nick and it's amazing. It last for weeks on tires, even through rain, and works wonders on bringing old faded plastic trim back to life. I used it on my wife's car to restore the black trim around the wipers. It's been over a month, with about 5 washes and its still going strong and looks like new. I love the look of it on tires too.
