    michakaveli Welcome to Detailing

David was contacted to make this Roush machine look as good as it sounded. Exhaust note was pure Erotica. Overall condition of the paint wasn't too bad. Paint surface had the usual swirls and minor RIDS. Another opportunity to work with David, so on the the pix!

    Enjoy!

    Interior:

    Vacuumed...and vacuumed
Dusted crevices/vents with boars hair brush
Wiped down all surfaces with ONR/water
Protected all surfaces with Optimum Protectant Plus
    Zep Glass Cleaner

    Exterior:

    - Meguiar's Shampoo Plus via Gilmour foam gun
    - Meguiar's Shampoo Plus via Gilmour foam gun, agitated via Swissvax brush
    - Waxed with Carnauba Moose Wax
    - Wiped down with Optimum Instant Detailer
    - windows wiped down with Duragloss AquaWax
    - Black Wow used on black cladding

*BEFORE* doesn't look too bad from a few feet away

CORRECTION: Attacking the paint imperfections posed a minor challenge, as the clear on the car was rather hard, and there were multiple areas that exhibited a re-spray of sorts. The trunk lid had some of the worst damage, healthy RIDS! The rest of the vehicle had your typical swirling and some water spotting.

    [Trunk Lid]
    - spoiler removed to ease access to the trunk lid surface
    - wet-sanded most of the trunk with 2000grit paper
    - followed up with a 3M 4-ply twisted wool pad , using 3M's Extra Cut Compound (ECC) via rotary. (1-2passes)
    - followed by Meguiar's Yellow Solo wool pad to refine the micro marring left behind by the aggressive wool pad combo.
    - this was followed by the new Lake Country cyan cutting foam pad via Flex 3401 and M105
    - for good measure, a new Lake Country tangerine finishing pad with M205 via PC7424XP

David workin' the wheel. Will the 4-ply twisted wool get those sanding marks out?

    Looks like it will

Up close some of the residual marring. Unfortunately some of that was actually in the paint in some areas... We didn't paint it.

    It's gettin' there!

Some swirling in the passenger door

Here was a quick 50/50 shot of the swirls on the left, and attacked with the Flex and M105 on the right. Morning time revealed some scattered RIDS, David hit the doors with the Yellow Solo wool pad and ECC, then followed the remaining steps as we had done to the trunk lid.

Random action shot, I thought it was kinda kool.

    Thanks! :thumb:
Simply removed it. Removed the bolts that held it on, carefully removed and re-installed.

No, we ended up buffing it with the Yellow Solo pad and aforementioned steps to restore the gloss like was done on the rest of the vehicle.
