Here's a former coworker's 2000 Jaguar S-Type. He keeps this garaged so the paint was actually in pretty good shape. As far as overall condition goes, the front bumper had a small meeting with a concrete parking stop or curb a while ago and there were a couple scratches in the front fender along with hard water spots on the roof and trunk lid, but for a 12 year old car, not bad at all. Here's what it looked like when delivered to me: Decontamination Wash: (Adam's Car Shampoo + Adam's APC in Glimour Foam Gun) Engine Bay Before: After: (Adam's APC, Boar's Hair Brush, Dressed with Super VRT and In and Out Spray) Before After Gotta love the Adam's In and Out Spray for engine dressing Claying the car - Looks can be deceiving. It was so coarse, it actually caught the ziploc bag! (Adam's Clay Bar with Adam's Detail Spray) Peeled back to show original color of clay: After claying and getting it under my halogens, I can see that the silver color of the car really does hide a lot! Driver's Side: Before: Driver's Side: After: (3 passes with Menzerna PF2500 on Uber Orange with Flex 3401) Holy scratch, Batman! Before: After: Front Driver's Fender: Before: After: Menzerna PF2500 doing its thing Water Spots on Roof: Roof 50/50: Top: Before. Bottom: After. (1X Menzerna PG1000 Compound on Uber Yellow + 1X Menzerna PF2500 on Uber Orange with Flex 3401) B-Pillars 50/50: (2 Passes with Menzerna PF2500 on Uber Orange with Flex 3401) After finishing off everything with final polish, I wiped the car down twice with IPA before setting in MPL to cure overnight. (Menzerna SF4500 with Uber Blue on Flex 3401 + IPA x2 + Menzerna Power Lock with Uber Black on PC7424XP) Next morning bright and early, MPL ready to be taken off (by now it better be!!!), and let's finish things up! I was dreading this part, as I personally hate rocker panel work, especially with the gunk that is embedded in there over the years. But it has to be done for the sake of thoroughness. (I put this part off till the end): Rocker Panel Before: Rocker Panel After: (Stoner's Tarminator + Adam's APC + IPA + Uber Wash Sponge + Lots of elbow grease on your back) Driver's Side Before: Driver's Side After: After that, the exterior was complete and it was finally time to knock out the interior. The owner has kept the inside in very good shape and all that was needed was some TLC from some high quality chemicals and a thorough vacuum. Carpets vacuumed with Adam's Vac N' Blo 500 Dash cleaned with 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Leather cleaned with Adam's Leather & Interior Cleaner All surfaces conditioned with Adam's Leather Conditioner Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Exhaust Tip Before: Exhaust Tip After: (Adam's Metal Polish #2) All rubber trim treated Door Trim Before: Door Trim After: (Adam's Super VRT) Before: After: Finished Shots: Wheels Before: Wheels After: (Adam's Green Wheel Cleaner and APC with Daytona SpeedMaster and Adam's Fender, Boar's Hair and Lug Nut Brushes, Dressed with Adam's Super VRT) Reflections off a silver car are hard to be dramatic on camera. Lessons learned: 1. A Metro Blaster Sidekick on the interior can reveal Cheerios from under the seat. 2. The badges on the trunk lid are NOT metal, they are plastic with chrome paint. Ask me how I know this. 3. Jaguars have a weird shifter. Took me a while to figure out why I wasn't pulling forward. Thanks for looking! Jae
1. compressed air helps ALOT during interior details. you can also dry off tires and blow out body crevices after a wash. so convenient. 2. so...do you know how to chrome plate the badges now?...haha 3. don't worry man, when i first sat in a newer model car, i didn't realize that you have to hold the brake and then press the start button. doh! i drive a 1998, so i'm behind times...=p great work and thorough job! i like the before and after format...=)
