Just completed in the shop, this Golf R is brand new and the owner wanted the best clarity and shine along with a coating to give him the best protection as well. The vehicle did not need massive correction but there were a few deep RIDS and some marring especially on the "B-pillars" with the supersoft paint.

    Before the wash/decon steps.

After the wash, the pillars stripped of any LSP, they were marred a good amount.

    After compounding/medium polishing steps.

Drivers side pillars not looking too good either.

    After.

Topside of the rear bumper had some RIDS, and slight marring after clay step.

Paint overall was "As new" but there were a few deep RIDS like these.

After a little effort, correction was achieved and the readings were healthy for the finish still(134microns).

    All finished.

    Interior just needed a Vac/wipedown.

Yes Drew, it has been a "On-going" project.................it's real bad, but Alex loves the car so even though he was at first like "I am just going to hammer it as a daily blah, blah........................."he has put suspension, exhaust, flash for the ECU, carbon fiber engine cover, newer stock wheels, and rotors............... so much for leaving it alone lol.

After the correction he is going to re-spray the top portion as it was re-sprayed before and to thin for me to work with. The car drives nice and is comfortable and still gets looks to this day............. I did a ton of these when they came out in the late nineties as my Ferrari customers were trading in thier 348's for these and even a couple of 355 owners.

Chad the one I did had great paint, nice fit and finish over all, love that you are in the "Scissor lift" club now and your knees and back will thank you as I am living proof to still be able to correct at a high level while being old....NESS

Good to know! I actually have 2 of them on the books, the later one will be in July and needs a good 2-step correction.

The lift is awesome but I immediately noticed what you were talking about with the 2" x 12" boards. I sent my metal fabrication guy some CAD drawings of the brackets I want made as well as the new ramps ( perk of my FT job ;) ). I also convinced my land lord to let me drill some mounting holes into the floor. Hope to have it all done in a couple weeks. Thanks for the tips BTW! :thumb:

I'm just getting started out on my side business. I just picked up a Golf R. What steps did you go through. I was just going to use sf4000 and polish mine. But what products and how did you do this one.
