This was the end of day one. First coat of FMJ and PB Wheel Sealant on. 9 hours so far. This was my fourth detail taking over 11 hours in five days. I'm going to Starbucks!! :coffee:Stay posted for pics of his kids black Harley F350 I'm doing next week. Thanks for looking.
Wow! That's an amazing transformation. :worship2: That paint looks super reflective, deep, and wet. Engine looks incredible.
Very cost effective. If you buy in bulk(trade line) their products are in concentrated form. Most other lines are already diluted down somewhat. A litre of engine & machine cleaner retails for 22.95 CDN but if you buy a gallon of Powermax2 (same product-just the trade name) it sells for 29.95 I believe and you dilute it 8:1. Autoglym products are very good, especially their cleaners.
Wow very nice, well done :worship2: The colour to the truck seems to suite it, looks great specially with all that hard work you put in it. I really like the picures you took of the wetsanding process, so you removed 3microns. That's not bad at all, if you don't mind me asking what grit did you use? Great turn around, thank you for sharing eace: Oh by the way that is a lovely home, love all the stone work on the exterior :druling:
Nice work.... the tire dressing is very nice... looks like some stuff competition to my go to Surf City!
I used 1500 grit and then polished it out with SIP on a 4"orange ccs followed by PO85rd on a green ccs. On factory paint I very seldom will use 1000 grit. I've found that a light hit with 1000 will remove 5 - 7 microns but you still have to follow up with 1500 then polish. No thanks. When I sanded the M5 that I posted, the area had been resprayed and had over 200 microns. Sanding and polishing took off somewhere around 15 - 18 microns. Way too much off a factory paint job. The house is on the market for 1.3m if you're interested. He doesnt live there, its just his office when he's in town.
Yes, I rarely use 1000 grit, way to aggressive for my choosing. I rather stick to 2000 and 3000. I tend to play on the safe side, just me though. 1.3M, hmmm...:shakehead: I purchased an acre lot where I intend to build my and wife's dream home, I have the land now so all I need to do is work on the blue print and I'm planning on spending a few years modifying the blue prints till i'm ready to build the dream home :cheerl: I have nothing but time in the mean wile, the wife picked out a house for the mean wile so no more purchasing any big ticket items for the rest of the year that is :giggle:
Thats too funny. My wife and I are on a couple of acres in an older house until we can build our dream garage with a house attatched as well. To build out here right now is $200 /sq ft so it ain't happenin this year. I have a pic of a garage you have to see. I'll find it and post it.
