I checked the other threads and didn't find anything so here goes.

I got this stuff in a package from DD and looking at reviews it looks to work great only problem I see is posted on Autogeeks website:

So dose this mean on my daily driver equipped with headlight washers I will be removing all the protection when I clear my windshield? The headlight squirter's shoot a mist all over the front end when activated.

this is a windshield washer fluid concentrate.

it will blow anything away that you get at Pepboys etc.

1 of these will make 1 gallon of washer fluid.

Try it you will like it a lot.

Any regular washer fluid is going to kill wax as well with the alcohol content so this will not be any different other than it works heck of a lot better. This is my summer fluid that I use.

Oh crap that is what I was thinking. I might just disable those pop up sprayers.

No, not to be concerned about that. Yes it can remove wax but only minor film on the windshield in conjunction with the friction of the wiping action of the wiper blade. Simply spraying on paint is not going to pull the wax off. It has a pH of 9.5 at full concentration. After diluting it 1:25, the pH is close to neutral.

**I need to clarify what I said above re: dilution ratio. Nick.944 was referring to the sample of Kristall Klar 1 Dose cartridge sample he received. It's a different concentration than the consumer 250 ml / 8.5 fl oz bottle that makes a total of 7 gallons and is a 1:100 concentration. Same product but different concentrations.

This is a GREAT product! Highly recommend it. And it smells kinda kool too :headbang:

I think the dilution is 1 cap/bowl full per gallon of water. Add this to a gallon of distilled water, instant windshield washer solution...

That's right... for the 250 ml / 8.5 bottle you fill the bottle's top resevoir and mix it with one gallon of water. It's a 1:100 mixing ratio.

Can you use it in the Winter? say -20C or greater? Or I can only use 1Z Einszett Anti-frost Washer Fluid? What is the dilution ratio for 1Z Einszett Anti-frost Washer Fluid?

No, Kristall Klar begins to freeze at 32°F / 0°C.

For winter use the winter version Anti-Frost which is good from 7°F to -22°F depending on how you mix it.

Anti-Frost will work fine in warm weather too for easy transistion in the spring. It also mixes easily with Kristall Klar when making the transistion to winter.

mm I guess i cant try out my sample bottle till Spring :( should of bought the anti-frost one!
Michael, you know how it compares to the ones Mercedes tops up? I know that people with my GLK are having washer fluid leaking for reasons i do not know of, however it seems to happen when they try and top up their own mixtures ( some are saying they used Rain-X )

We private label Kristall Klar for Mercedes in Germany so it meets OEM requirements. The lubricants and water softeners in KK help keep the washer pump system working optimally and reduces mineral build-up due to hard water.

If you use plain tap water in your washer pump system or a washer fluid product that doesn't soften the water, the pump system can fail and/or the sprayers can clog causing problems to the system.

cool! guess i'll get some anti-frost and Kristall Klar the next time I order something and i'll use that sample bottle in Spring.
Would Mercedes be using Anti-Frost + KK solution in Canada or would they just be using the Anti-Frost solution for year round? (actually i should probably pop an email to Mercedes)

I'm not sure. We only have an account directly with Mercedes dealers in Germany since they're all factory owned. In the US and Canada, each one is independant (except for the New York dealership) so each dealership uses whatever they want to use. We don't currently have any dealerships in Canada using the 1z washer fluids.

But to answer your question, AF can be used year round but KK is a lot more economical. So I would change between the two especially if you regularly use the washer fluid.
