This is my 2nd week of vacation with my wife out of town for a week and the kids in daycare..so I arranged 3 cars to do!! 1st up: a 2003 Infiniti G35 red. Nice shape generally, but the car gets maintained by car washes. The inevitable swirls and the like (fine scratches to the clear) as well as a multitude of chips. The customer supplied the touch up pen and I spent at least an hour just doing that. This car got the 3 step Value Guard wash system. Some stains in the mats and carpet were no match for Folex and the steam cleaner! The Process: Wash: Value Guard 3 step process Wheels, Barrels, Wells: Wheels got EZ brush on barrels with SC cleaner Tires got ARO cleaner Wells got APC cleaner (hurry up eshine so I can try yours!) Wheels subsequently cleaned with DG 501 Wheels sealed with DG 105 Tires treated with DP gel Wells dressed with Crappy Tire tire shine Head/Tail Lights: Tails polished with DG plastic polish Tails sealed with DG 105 Heads compounded with PG Heads polished with DG plastic polish Heads sealed with DG 105 Paint: Multiple touch ups Compounded with rotary using PG and a purple wool pad Polished with Menz Micro polish, rotary with white pad Cleaned with DG 501 with rotary and black pad Sealed with DG 601/105 combo AW after curing period Exterior Trim: Treated with Black Again Tail pipes polished with Blue Magic Interior: Mats treated with Folex Mats pw'd and vacuumed and steam cleaned Carpeting steam cleaned Plastic and leather surfaces treated with 303 Glass with IG Door jams with ONR BEFORES: AFTERS:
Hey richy, great work there! I'm curious though since you power-washed and steam cleaned the mats, what was your process/order? Oh and what steam cleaner and vacuum did you use?
I vacuum them 1st, then treat any stains with Folex, wipe with a terry cloth, power wash, spray with APC, agitate, power wash again to rinse, vacuum (http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f79/shop-vac-5-gallon-5-5-a-3238.html). The steamer I use (it's probably overkill on the mats too, but what the hell, I've got it on at this point for the interior (later in process)..is this one: Steam cleaner, steam cleaners, steam cleaning, steam vapor cleaners
Very nice work on these three cars Richy, the red looks SO bright that it almost looks pink in some places! My red truck does that exact same thing, funny how that happens...
Thanks P1et..I think the light has a ton to do with it. Usually I'm taking my pics earlier in the day, but these were done at around 7:30 with a low in hte sky sun. I think that has a lot to do wiht it. thanks a bunch sal!
