This car is owned by a friend from another forum, I own a 98 Mark VIII. This car was pretty beat up, had a cheap SS paint job... I did as much as I could with the time I had.

    Products Used
    Megs Gold Class
    Proline Grout Sponge
    Diablo
    OPC
CG Purple Clay, water as the lube
    Menzerna PG, SIP, and PF
    3M Wool
    Uber Green
    RB Blue, wool, and Rayon
    Autosol
    Stoner Invisible Glass
    Optibond
    AJ
    Klasse AIO
    Megs #40
and a few other things I'm sure I forgot!

    Condition when I received it

Pulled it in the shop... wowza!

Clay... CG purple pulled up a lot of junk, the bar shot is after a 1x1 foot area...

CG water spot remover in action! The car was covered in water spotting and oxidation, the WSR pulled off TONS of stuff. I'm sure it isn't meant to remove oxidation but hell it pulled of tons of junk and I wasn't complaining...

After claying and water spot remover I taped it up for polishing.

These are paint condition shots after one pass with wool and Menzerna SIP, there was no point in showing a bunch of pics of oxidation...

Here is the only 50/50 I took... good stuff!

After a full go around with the wool and SIP
    [IMG]

Due to the sloppy prep and body work someone nailed the window garnish with a da... I used a 75mm rayon pad with Autosol metal polish

The headlights... typical of Marks... I hit them with 600, 1000, 2000, RB Blue and PG, and Uber Green and PF.

Here are some afters... I topped the car with Jeff Werksatt Acrylic Jett, the hood had some nasty defects that I couldn't do anything about... but overall it looks great!

That turned out great. I bet the customer was really pleased ...:applause:

How long did it take you?

BTW ... how did you apply the water spot remover? Darkstar752 talked to me about this product and I really want try it on vehicle that has really bad water spots.

I used a foam app and rubbed it on, and then wiped it off with a cheap MF... then rinsed down the whole car when I was done.

What are those plastic bottles called? I've been looking for 'em but I wanted an exact name.

    *don't hurt the n00b. I'm learning!*

nice turnaround! the correcting of the chrome trim piece that had the DA sand damage is pretty impressive. i saw the first pic and was like "no way hes going to be able to get that out" (no offense!). came out really nice.

The tips on fixing that came straight from Ben... I had bought his rayon pads but didn't know what compounds to use...

I want to pick up some Dodo superfine to use with RB wool to chase out the final swirls...

Overall I was very impressed with how much cut it had, I was planning on having to wetsand...

    looks great!

i love to see changes like this.. this IMHO is better than seeing some micro fine scratches taken out of a Lambo or exotic that is driven once a month .

i heard from a few others that CG WPR eats through foam applicators since its acidic. Dave (DSMS) has had it happen to him. I myself have applied it with a cheap MF towel

also check lowes or home depot garden section, i seen some there but not sure how good they work or if they provide mist as fine as this. but they were under $10 there

Thanks! I'll probably grab some from Home Depot first and as I see fit I'll get some better quality ones. :thumb:

I bought those sprayers at Norther Tool, they are Hudson brand... very happy with them...

I used the 75mm rayon RB pads on the 75mm RB backing plate...
