Nice job! Reminds me of the neglect my dad did on my car for 12 years before I spent 19 hours on it lol Glad to see another ES become showroom again :thumb:
That vehicle seemed to have some wicked swirls in it :thumb: Lovely turn around, just curious how did you find the clear coat on this vehicle? Soft? Just curious that's al. Thank you for taking the time to share the pictures eace:
Hey guys, appreciate the comments. Nica, I thought the CC would be soft but it turned out to be pretty hard. The hood had a lot of chips on it making it very difficult to polish out properly. Had to make 2 passes with IP to make a real difference. I say I got out about 80% of the swirls/defects. I should have gone with an orange or even yellow cutting pad but the car is an outdoor cat so wanted to leave as much CC on and make it presentable again.
Yea, I detailed a semililar Lexus and I too found the clear to be quite hard and it too stained my foam pads, must have had the stained clear coat...the vehicle really threw me off at first, I had to use a wool pad to remove all swirls and deep scratches. I just found it quite odd that the clear coat on the older Lexus would be so hard, I haven't detailed a newer model...well I own a Lexus but I haven't polished it so I honestly don't know if the newer vehicle shave the softer clear coat Any who thank you for sharing that feed back, I was just curious that's all eace:
