This is the car that I did in April '08. The owner has had some health issues and has decided to put it up for sale at the RM auction in Detroit in a week. I spent 18 hours on it last time and had sealed it with the 601/105 combo. I was excited to see how it was holding up, now mind you this is a garage queen. It had something dripping on it as you can see from the pics..there was spots on it that did not come off with a wash. The paint was sheeting unbelievably well..I was happy to see that. It's been on there for 15 months after all. He also had an intake he wanted me to polish as well. A total of 10 hours. Something interesting for me, I DID NOT USE DURAGLOSS ON THIS CAR!! OK...Pick yourself off the floor, I'll explain why I wanted it to have a glow for the auction and since it's being sold, I really didn't care how long the LSP lasted this time. The other thing is I tried Chemical Guys WET MIRROR FINISH. I had tried it a few times on my FX and it did nothing for me. This was THE car for it...boy did it ever amp up the glow to the paint. I put Pinnacle Souveran over it. The whitewalls really came up nicely too..A TIP: MAGIC ERASER! See my 50/50 shot. Well done richy vehicle looks great...this may be an old vehicle but it still looks great :druling: There is a reason why these vehicles are called classic :thumb: I agree, the helpers are growing up richy I remember seeing pictures when they were baby's...incredible how fast time goes by huh :shead:
Very nice. You definitely made sure he's going to get a good price for it, that is for sure. Let us know how it goes if he and you don't mind!
The Caddy looks great Richy, surely the Owner will get top dollar now(Considering the Economy) Your Hired Hands look like a tough bunch....Very Cute, they must have their Mothers Good Looks.:giggle:
Kei..thank you..they are at a perfect age...2 1/2 and almost 6. Carlos..I told the owner, and I wasn't kidding, it is a pleasure to work on a car with such nice lines. And, ya, they are growing up fast. I really do concentrate on trying to be in the moment with them. One day it'll just be an empty house and lots of pictures. Laguna..Yes I will..I'm interested as well and my father will be at the auction so I'll be able to find out. It's the 1st weekend of August. Thanks..I started with that so it kind of set the stage..The stainless was a pain but the rest cleaned up like nothing. It was a pleasure to work on it. Hahaha..thank God they look like their Mother!! In fact when you see a picture of my wife when she was 2.5, you can't tell if you're looking at her or our youngest. She's determined like my wife was at that age too according to my in-laws.
