These scratches were quite deep but as the area had been resprayed recently. there was a good chance there would be enough clear to sand out. Car washed with DP carwash soap and Werkstat wool mitt. Jambs were cleaned with Autoglym Powermax2. Tires, wheels and inner fenders cleaned with Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner. Very minor swirling upon initial viewing. Later viewing under halogens would reveal nasty RDS from recent visit to BMW service department. As I do this car quite frequently, the interior was quite clean. Glass was done with Autoglym Glass Polish. Wipedown with Autoglym Interior Shampoo and seats cleaned and conditioned with Lexol. All wood got Werkstat Prime Strong and Dodo SN. Trunklid was the worst part of the car for damage. As this area has been polished numerous times for the same kind of thing, I opted to hit it twice with SIP on an Orange CCS and follow up with PO85RD on a Black CCS and call it even. These scratches were quite deep and required #1000 to knock them down. Polished out with Power Gloss and then SIP on Orange CCS.It didn't remove them completely, but you wouldn't see them unless you knew they were there. PTG reading was around 170 when I was done. With the area having been resprayed, I wasn't comfortable taking any more off. Happiness is never having to say you're sorry.:thumb: The entire car was then polished out with SIP on a Green CCS and then finished with PO85RD on a Black CCS. Exhaust tips were cleaned with Autosol and 000 steel wool and finished with Production metal polish and a MF. All jambs were done with Werkstat Prime Strong and Werkstat Acrylic Jett. Wheels were finished with Poorboys Wheel Sealant. I just got this am quite happy with the results. The car was finished with three coats of Werkstat Acrylic Jett and wiped down with Acrylic Glos. The sun was still hiding behind the trees when I took the final pics so none of the car in the sun. Sorry. Thanks for looking.
Wow, amazing work on that vehicle! I bet the client was happy with the results! Those tail pipes came out great too!
that is an amazing job on a great car! how did you apply the polish to the tips? those look absolutely astounding!
The insides were done with Autosol and 000 steel wool by hand and the outsides were done with 000 steel wool and Production metal polish by hand.
Well done :applause: you sure brought that vehicle back to life :worship2: Great 50/50 pictures and the exaust tips look wicked :wicked: Job well done and the blue looks really good :thumb: Thank you for sharing the detail eace:
I did 2 coats the first day with 30 minutes between coats and the same between the final coat and Acrylic Glos wipedown the second day.
I can't believe i didn't take pics of the area that was sanded when I was done. :shead:It did however polish out nice enough with an Orange CCS pad to go to my LSP but the whole car got a once over with PO85RD first.
Awesome detail, honestly I think I like the E39 better than the E60 M5, minus the interior of course!
