140 Hours CTS-V Full Colorsand/Correction

I recently picked up a 2011 CTS V Coupe, it was a demo used by the dealership and I got a smoking deal on it so I couldn't pass it up! After about a week of looking at how terrible the paint and texture was on my car I decided to fix it! Myself and Justin knew that this was not going to be a fun task to do in between all of the other cars we were correcting but the outcome was sure worth it all! After our prep process we pulled it inside to get some before shots with the Sun Gun and take reading with the DFT Combo. Once we checked the readings we determined what steps we were going to do. The sanding process was carried out with a Trizact Sander, starting with 1,500 dry, 3,000 wet, and finished with 4,000 wet. 4-5 steps were used in bringing the paint back to life. The car was topped with a coat of Crystal Rock, and the two others I have been testing. Enjoy the photos.

Fantastic wetsand correction. My favorite shot is with the driver's door opened halfway and has the reflections of the two trees. That's the money shot for me.

 

The paint damage wasn't that bad, but the OEM quality...OMG. That was terrible orange peel. Tremendous job on this one! :applause:

Nice ride! Wow 140 hrs... but the orange peel from the factory is so horrific, what can you do. Love the smoked tails. You going to leave the wreath off the trunklid?

 

Wow, as always outstanding work, the more I see the Coupe the more I want one..

Any plans for mods?

Also I gotta ask do you go through that much megs products? Pallets and pallets lined up behind you....

 

The CTS-V is one of my favorites and yours looks great. Really like the smoked tails and tint.

 

Thanks for the compliment! I plan on doing a 850 HP set up, and no I rarely use Megs I only use the cutting disc D300 &105, all that product is just waiting to be shipped out..

 

Looks amazing Jimmy. Gotta say, those are some GNARLY halogen lights. Where did you get them? How many Kilowatts are they? How many light bulbs are in them? lol

But really, those reflections look better than a mirror!

damn what a beautiful car. i got one too. a 12 with diamond edition black paint. yours looks so much more butch with the black wheels and smoked lens. still this car wipes the floor with my last amg. what specific mods get you 850 hp? thanks
