Im about to flip out here, Im reading that 106 has fillers in it. Ive done several alcohol wipe downs after using it and didnt notice anything. Anyone else? http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-forum/10070-106ff-question-3.html
BS! It can`t have fillers! I have just menzerna top inspection, and never get any swirls back. Seriously..can`t be right!
hmmmm....TOGWT is a very knowledgeable person and has abundant of resources available to utilize as he pleases but 106FF having fillers, I question that statement. I've used 106FF and 106FA on numerous vehicles and I've done wipe downs with various products as well not just the alcohol wipe down and I have yet to see 106FF and 106FA have fillers. hmmm...perhaps a quick phone call to Menzerna head office might be in order. I'd be very shocked to read/hear that 106FF contains fillers. I would have to see it for my self..mmmm...this weekend I'll give it a go but every vehicle I've done with 106FF I'm right on the surface with my 3M Sun Gun and I haven't been able to find any fillers or after a alcohol wipe down and inspection with the Sun Gun I still haven't been able to find any filling effect.
Yeah, it might be user error or left over residue like budman mentioned. I HIGHLY doubt Menzerna has actual FILLERS in it.
Oh I agree with teh statment budman made, I've noticed that my self when wiping 106FF. I agree with you about Menzerna with fillers, I just can't see it.
Ive been wondering the same for a while. If you look at how 106ff acts, it does look like it can have "fillers". Let it dry for just a little bit and you can see how well it STICKS to the paint.
All I can say about it is I used sip and 106ff on my Maxima in March. When I washed it on Sunday I did notice some buffer swirls in the paint. Maybe the polish has worn off, but I would expect them to be removed permantly.
I would not be pleased if Mezerna had fillers in it. We all know that XMT360 does, but I would hope that a non-Mickey Mouse product wouldn't have that.
Most abrasive polishes will stick to the surface if left to dry. Try letting Powergloss dry on the surface.
ive used menzerna 106 and after i polished with it i used an alcohol wipe down then rechecked paint in the full sun and nothing was there but an awesome flawless shine there are no fillers in this what so ever!!!!
i think that if you leave anything setting for long enough it will fill.. especially if it's hot and it hardens and you only get the surface stuff off. i think people "not saying you" wanna read too much into stuff and wanna come out with the biggest discovery the detail world has ever seen. that everything is fake and doesn't do what it says, everyone is using fillers... blah blah blah. if you like a product and it does what you want it to do... then keep using it. if you don't, find something you like and move on:giterdone::2cents:
Thats not really what I had in mind, but I guess that could be true too. I agree, some people just want attention, or they get free stuff so they will bash others. I do not want that attention and I dont get anything free. Believe me, thats the last thing Im trying to do here. You dont see me going around saying Menzerna has fillers, swells paint, or preaching anything else for that matter. Ive kept the things I know about Menzerna to myself, besides a few hints here and there. But these things have absolutely nothing to do with Menzerna having fillers in it. So I hope thats not what you guys think Im saying here. Menzerna is THE BEST polish Ive ever used and is the only one I use. As far as reading into things too much, well I dont really agree with that. The people who read into stuff are at the top. They research and experiment with products to get the best out of them. The people who dont read into things simply read the directions on the bottle and go at it. And they feel that is good enough or something. Basically it comes down to how anal you are and how technical you want to get. For me, I have extremely high standards and Im very anal about things like this. So you can bet that Ill constantly be trying to find out what works best. If you want to be at the top, then you have to look into things. Every little detail is important and makes a difference.
I've NEVER experienced "filling" by the Menzerna products I've tested. Seems to me that there are a select few (of other forums) that have some sort of axe to grind, or are not working the polish properly.
106, like sip was designed for ceramic mercedes clear. Use it on conventional paint and blame the product???? It doesn't fill. What seems to be happening is that the paint swells up. No amount of IP wipe will clean that off. Go back in a few days and see how the paint is then. I suspect that light imperfections are leveled without any reappearance later, but heavy cutting maybe a different issue. Again, 106 doesn't fill.
Exactly, if you are getting "problems" from Menzerna then you arent using it correctly. You'll only see it under certain conditions. Based on peoples write ups, many are are not using it correctly. tdekany- what pads/ polish were you using? What kind of paint? What machine/ speed?
