This car belongs to my mother and I did not have time to complete it when I did the outside job (here). So I managed to finish it yesterday. It's got that light tan coloured carpet and had a burgandy shoe polish stain in the carpeting. It gave me a good chance to try both the DG carpet cleaner in a can as well as the Majestic Solutions (witchcraft in a bottle as Karl calls it; WTF, MS might as well rename it now!). The bad news is that the stain did not come out completely, but it came out about 90-95%. You can see it still in the pics, but thankfully does not look as bad in the regular light. I even tried steaming it..I was all out of ideas at that point. I also used Ken's blue interior pad, namely the Autoglym Hi-Tech cleaning pad (found here). I would have thought that just using this pad would have not made much of a difference...HOW WRONG I WAS!! My advise to you: Get one! There were scuffs in the kick panels that came out, stains in the light tan leather that came out...it works wonders. I did not take any befores and I'm really regretting it. See for yourself on the afters at how well it cleaned up. The other thing I tried is the MS carpet cleaner on the AG pad for the bad stains on the kick panels..did it EVER work well! Products used: AG Hi-Tech pad MS carpet cleaner (witchcraft in a bottle, LOL) 303 Aerospace Zep glass cleaner DG Rain Repel Steam cleaner (Gaia) 303 cleaner DG Leather Shampoo with AG pad DG Leather conditioner AFTERS:
looks nice rich. i've always had bad experiences with getting stains out of lexus carpeting and dye transfer out of their leather seats. still havent put my finger on it. the carpeting i attribute to it being a relatively "plush" carpet, but thats as far as ive gotten with figuring it out....
At least with the leather on this one I was able to get out the stains with the AG pad and the DG leather shampoo. I also tried the 303 cleaner with the pad but the shampoo did a much better job.
Nice work, that AG pad is amazing! Like you said you would never guess it would make as much of a difference as it does; it is definitely a must have.
Thanks for sharing your review of the AG pad Richy. I'll definitely put it in my basket when funds come my way.
Thanks Karl. I had tried it a few times but nothing challenging like this was. this was a good a test of any for it. Thanks again. Thanks..I will always have one now. Thanks Denzil..you will love it when you get one.
second lex with die transfer i have seen here ... note to self. never buy a lex with ivory interior. good work the ironic is the floor mats. maybe you shoudl go to the hardware store and get that mooving sticky plastic wrap (used to put on carpet when moving or painting /etc.) and put it all over where her boots/clothes hit the center console
Hey Richy, what is this magic pad? I looked at AutoGlym and Autogeek to no avail, do you have a link?
Jeddiah..that seems to be common amongst them..wonder if Carlos has had any issues with his? The ironic thing is that it wasn't her shoes that did that mark...it was my sister in law. bryan...got your message about that and will store it for future reference. thanks! Yes, it's grooooovy baby!! I did provide a link in the brackets when I was describing it...look again please. Edit: here it is (click on the word here...either one, LOL)
