I did this car Saturday for the Nissan/Infiniti dealer. This is the 2nd job I've done for them as a MOBILE DETAILER. Even though it's a PITA to pack everything up (and you always forget SOMETHING), I do appreciate the work. The story with this car is that it had bug damage that had eaten into the clear like little craters. I knew it could not be corrected but the manager said "Just make it as good as you can". There's a challenge I was up for! The car was waiting for me already washed. The befores are of the spots but they didn't come out great. The Process: Paint: Clayed with CM and ONR (this car was too new to try Chris' sample..I've got the perfect candidate for it in 2 weeks) Compound using X3 and purple foamed wool with rotary at 1200-1500 rpm. Polish using Menzerna Micro Polish and blue LCC pad at 1000-1200-1000 DG 601 by hand DG 105 via UDM (tried it for the 1st time to see if I saw any difference) and blue pad Jams, etc with ONR. Glass with ONR. Richy-rich my canadian brother (not really) flawless work!! so u've gone mobile huh? great you get to work for the dealership, you can charge more!
Looks good there richy, boy those before shots look really bad..but then again what do you expect from the dealership :shakehead: Great save on that vehicle...by the way did this vehicle have the sticky clear coat?
Hey richy, That looks like it came out pretty good.Nice job.Are you taking pictures of yourself?icture:icture:icture:icture:
Dust..I charge them basically the same. I dont want to get greedy. Great question Carlos. No, it did not. It corrected pretty easily. Buddy..I was checking to see if the lens was shatterproof!!:rollinglaugh:
Great job there Richy! I wouldn't go so far to say you're being greedy for mobile jobs! You do amazing work and I'm sure you're worth every penny! I'm glad though that they're providing you with work, hehe. Again, amazing job!
That is gorgeous work, what did the dealership think about it? And did their in-house hacks come and check out your work?
Thanks Scott! Denail..thank you very much. I didn't mean that I was greedy for doing the mobile work, I meant that just b/c it is a dealership, I wasn't going to charge them more than normal. He knows what I charge b/c he has sent me a lot of customers outside the dealership as well. No, they weren't working on a Saturday. The mechanics were all commenting on it though. Thanks Pat. The thing I liked about it was that you could really differentiate where you had put on the 601 vs the 105. It helped make sure you didn't miss any spots. It didn't take any longer and I found I did not use any more product. I think I will use this method again.
