This truck was back for a winter detail after receiving 3 coats of FMJ just 3 months ago. I guess a couple more coats couldn't hurt.

Dirty areas presoaked with AG Powermax 3
    Foamed with CG Maxi Suds
Washed with Lambswool Mitt and CG Maxi Suds
Inner fenders cleaned with AG Powermax3
Tires and Wheels cleaned with AG Custom Wheel Cleaner
Interior wiped down with citrus cleaner
Leather cleaned and conditioned with Lexol
Glass cleaned with Werkstat Prime Strong
    LSP was Menz FMJ x2
    Wheels finished PB Wheel Sealant
Tires dressed with Blue Dew tire dressing

    Total time - 7 hours

Interior wasn't filthy but needed a good going over.

Frontal areas were littered with bugs and what have you.

And this is where I sorted out the settings on my camera:crasy:

Bug littered areas were given a pre foam soaking with Autoglym Powermax3
    [IMG]

I'll be foaming with some CG Maxi Suds I got from E Shine
    [IMG]

Seems to work OK! What do you think?

Sorry about the unfocused pic. I wanted to show how little product gets used when using the foaming lance.

3 months after the last application of FMJ, not bad beading.

Inner fenders were soaked with AG Powermax3
    [IMG]

Tires and wheels were sprayed with AG Custom Wheel Cleaner and allowed to soak

Tire / wheel gear. Natural bristle paintbrush for around lugs. Oxo bottle brush for wheel backs and the newest addition, the Laitner ergonomic tire and wheel brush from CMA. This brush is so nice. I didn't want to use it for fear of getting it dirty. Yes its that nice!

First go with the new Oxo brush - love it!

Washing the tire and wheels with MF wash mitt. I got this one at Canadian Tire a year ago and after a year of getting soaked in wheel cleaner and acid , its still in great shape.

All washed and ready for some Menz. As it was just clayed 3 moths ago, it didn't need it this time.

I always use WW towels for windows and today I'm trying two new ones. The one on the left is from CMA (I noticed today they have an improved version of this one) and the Mini Dehydrator from Eshine. I think the Mini Dehydrator did a better job but in all fairness, I got both yesterday and haven't even washed them yet.

    Interior all done.

The citrus cleaner I have been playing with does an excellent job on interiors. High traffic areas like this get a spray, scrub and wipe. Done.

Does this look wet enough for you? Try not to notice the trademark Ford orange peel.

Wow, that looks great Ken! I think you shouldn't have said that the paint was orange peeled because it really did look "dripping" wet man :thumb:

How is the FMJ to work with? How long between coats?

Nice detail on that one :thumb:

Truck looks great. That was straight Maxi Suds in the lance, undiluted? hmm never tried it that way before. Ive always diluted it, but you seemed to have not used much soap at all.

Man you do some nice work! I remember the truck as well. It sure is a working truck all right! I am impressed with the beading on the FMJ. I had always followed it up with Collinite to ensure durability. I did pretty well on its own. Is that house on the water? Very nice neighbourhood indeed.

Always such great work! I know what you mean on the Ford door seals, I have the same thing on my Dodge. Very annoying!

FMJ goes on very easy and if allowed to dry, comes off like dust. I usually allow about 30 minutes between coats.

Thats why I posted the pic. I've done the same thing with PB Super Slick and Suds with the same results. It uses very little product and I like to lay it on thick - its just fun!

Its not on the water but he has an unbelievable view from his back deck overlooking the Fraser River. I just talked to Rich at Polished Bliss and he suggested I try Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection as well. Apparently it's like FMJ but with better durability.

Kind of funny you should say that as he lives near Whistler. This house is just his office when he's in town.

Im actually surprised FMJ doesnt get more use on these forums. I heard one guy say it only lasted 1 week for him, which I don't bye at all. When I tested it I got solid 3 months of tight beads.

nice job.....always love your write ups......

what foam lance is that....i have the Cam Spray and it works well but it doesnt play nice when you run full strength soap in it....i want to be able to do the same thing your doing and run straight soap....speeds up the process a bit....

you also mention a new Citrus cleaner for the interiors......who makes it???

I got mine from Rich at Polished Bliss in the UK but I may be able to source them locally if you're interested. I'll look into it and post my findings.
