Well another "problem child car" I have been doing nothing but these a** busting restoration details, not as scratched up as Ken's recent 03 black Porsche but SEVERE hard water spots everywhere, and the car is covered 95% in clear film(venture tape) only the area behind the hoops and the engine cover are not filmed. For anyone who does cars consistantly with clear bra on them you know how hard they are to correct defects such as hard water, scratches, bug stains etc.... as you cannot abrade them away like defects on paint. The start of a 22 hour correction Filth like you have never seen, two plus years of track duty in a spider. The client is getting a 430 challenge car finally(to help me from the purgatory of doing this kind of job again and save his wallet lol). Engine was covered in hard water spots(I almost cried when I took this pic) Working the wheel with GI gel In this pic you can see some pretty bad scratches After some 3000 grit sanding and Grey wool compounding, hazed and hololed but corrected After foam pad correcting a little more correction Panel now ready for final polishing Example of water spots on the fimed fender Corrected Interior was baaaddddd After Back plastic window was trashed!!!!!! 50/50 shot Corrected Results of labor (lot's of it) Water spots on the inside of the decklid are by by Tightened up engine bay Finished pics, was going to take outside pics but I had to share the pics of this uber tight garage set up This cars home and others which you will see in future write ups
SWEET MOTHER THAT'S MY DREAM GARAGE!!!! All it needs is a lift, is there a lift? There has to be a lift in there, so much space :druling: :druling:
Yep, that garage is bigger than my house. WTF. Great job Bob! I can only dream about landing details like that someday!
Wouldn't think the owner of such a garage would have their Ferrari in such a state but I guess shit happens:shrug:. Anyway the finish looks ridiculous Bob, excellent restoration of the paint and rear plastic window!
I almost LOL'd when I saw the before pics, it looks like it was driven by a soccer mom! Beautiful detail, I'd do terrible things to have a garage like that.
WOW, what a turn around!! Great job sir!! Work environment was wicked cool!! I think there was enough lights in it... Amazing job on that little window!!
Amazing work on that spider, your work is amazing I always look forward to your write-ups on this forum and others.
What is funny is the client built the garage obviously to park the cars, but put in a lift(scissor lift coming like the one in my shop) for his private mechanic and I to work on the cars!!! he has a CR Spotless built in the overhead with a pull down hose set up. 3,100 square feet of garage tightness ftw...................:applause:
ha first few pictures i thought he had bronze wheels! that is an amazing garage. clean, simple, and tons of space
Sshhhh... don't tell anyone but I have a custom technology that only I know about:bla2: seriously CG wet mirror finish and a GI 100 ppi applicator with lot's o rubbing:woopdedoo:
Holy Mutherfugging garage! If I had a garage like that I'd fill it up with Astons and Ferraris. Oh, and great job on that detail. I hope you gave the owner one of this :spank: for keeping that beauty in that state.
Sweet mother, a lift, private mechanic and a CR Spotless built in oh my goodness!!! :worship2: :worship2: Oh by the way what kind of scissor lift do you have? Now that I've finished my garage floor I'm ready to purchase my lift, I've pre-wired everything for it so just trying to choose a lift but I'm stuck between the type of lift you drive the vehicle on top, you know the ones that have a flat surface for the vehicles to be driven on or the type of scissor lift that you have to light up with the body frame of the vehicle. I'll see if I can find pictures of the lifts I'm referring too but I hope you know what I mean.
Can the 996TT drive up on that lift? Looks like you would need a fair bit of ground clearance to clear it... unless a recessed area was cut into the floor to accommodate it.
