This vehicle was in dire need of correction on every surface of the car, three plus years of neglect and drive thru tunnel commercial washes whish caused horrific marring. This is the sun shot before And another Last before shot Six inch long crescent shaped DEEP scratch that requires wetsanding Rear right quarter before correction One of the worst parts on the car was the grill, covered in hard water spots I had to correct with vinegar(8 applications) cleaning and polish each tine square by hand(5 hours alone) Had to put the CG glaze on with my finger as this was the only way to get the grill cleared up as using the micro towel was not working(major suck factor) Interior had coffee stains everywhere, the worst was in the rear where I got 95% correction with cleaners and steam After Finished Interior with smooth matte finish on leather Broke out my Festool which I do not use as much as my Flex DA, I like the trigger on the Flex but the festool has major power to correct foe a DA machine Finished shots
There is a whole write up before these pics, but I recieved a notice that it would have to be approved. Hopefully it makes the cut.
Very nice work, Bob! I have a maintenance package with a customer on his 08 GTC, in the exact same color. It's going to need correcting in the early fall, as his wife will take it through the tunnel wash from time to time...she doesn't think I'll notice. Hahaha. So, do you think the paint is pretty easy to work on? And I totally agree about the grill...TOTAL pain in the arse!
Looks great Bob, that commitment to the grill was amazing. Did you do it for 5 hours straight or do it for like 3 hours then come back? There's no way I could do that straight through.
5 hours total, but at least three consecutive as my fingers started cramping. I should have removed the grill and soaked it in a vinegar solution for about a week!!.
It's actually called Sapphire Blue, which is not what I was expecting when my customer told me about his GTC. Great color, no doubt.
