This is the car that I had posted about the dangers of working with thin paint. Again, am I ever glad I have my PTG!! Other than NOT being able to do heavy correction on the paint (which was a challenge in and of itself), the car got a lot of hand polishing in terms of the wheels, grille, and emblems. This is a beautiful car and was a pleasure to work on.

    The Process:

    Wheels/Barrels/Tires/Wells:
Wheels and Barrels received DG wheel cleaner at first and then I moved to Carbrite wheel acid. The acid was neutralized with Zep APC.
Tires were cleaned with Zep APC.
    Wells also done with Zep.

The brushes used to clean wheels and tires:

    Wash:
Foam Cannon with Optimum soap and Zep to remove any LSP's.
Wash 2 bm with grout sponge.
    Clayed after while wet.
    Foaming in action:

    Clay:
    CM blue used

    Head/Tail Lights:
Head Lights compounded with Megs 105 and 3" PFW pad
Head lights polished with Presta UCCL and 3" yellow pad
Head lights polished with DG plastic polish and 3" black pad
Tail Lights polished with DG plastic polish and 3" black pad
    Before of Head Light:

    Paint:
I had some silver touch up paint so several spots on the A pillars as well as on the front end were done using my patented toothpick method.
Compounded with Menz Power Finish for the most part with orange pad and a rotary although very thin areas were done with a white pad.
Polished with DG 501 with rotary using a blue LCC pad.
    DG 601 applied by hand
    DG 105 applied/removed by hand.

    Wheels/Tires/Wells:
The wheels were actually a mess..some large chips and lots of smaller ones which were touched up with my patented toothpick method.
The wheels were hand polished using Menz Power finish and a mf
They were then treated with DG 501 cleaner and sealed after that with DG 105.
Tires were dressed with DP gel.
    Wells were dressed with Adams.

    Emblems/Door sill trim:
Polished by hand using DG 501
    Finished result of star:

    Grille:
Polished by hand with DG 501 and mf.
    Sealed with DG 105.

    Floor Mats:
There were only carpet mats in the rear so they got power washed and vacuumed with spot removal where necessary.
The rest of the mats were rubber that got power washed and cleaned with Zep and dried with air compressor. Later were treated with Crappy Tire Tire Spray.

    Interior:
Carpeting was vacuumed and steam cleaned. Salt stains were treated with Zep High Traffic Lane cleaner and steam cleaned.
Wood was polished by hand with DG 501.
Door Jams were cleaned with ONR and sealed with AW.
Plastic was cleaned with 303 cleaner and treated with 303 Aerospace.
Leather was cleaned with DG leather cleaner using Autoglym pad and dried with a mf.
Leather was then treated with DG conditioner.
Glass was cleaned with Stoners IG.

Licence plate was cleaned using Menz Power finish and a mf...that made the customer very happy as it had some rust on it and it was a pet peeve of his. Funny thing is I usually don't touch the plate..I don't know why??

    BEFORES:
The car was started at night so the befores didn't turn out..just a few..

Great job as always richy. I think you make the DG501/601/105 combo look better than anyone else in the world. I love the pic with you, the rotary, and a cigar...it looks almost theraputic!

    Thanks Carlos..I appreciate your feedback!
Ken..thanks a lot..man am I getting some good use out of those Autoglym brushes and interior pad!
    Buddy..thank you sir!
I appreciate your comment. I was asked last post to put up some pics of the house..I'll get around to that in the future.
JL..you hit the nail on the head, man. It IS theraputic for me..my tunes (400 W stereo with MP3 input), cigar and a buffing machine. I've never been a sports fan..that's what I'd rather do.
P1et..me too..that's why I did that other post advising people sitting on the fence about buying a PTG should go ahead and do it. As I had said, this is the last car I expected to run into a problem with. It's their flagship for goodness sake!! Hate to see how thin it is on a B series!!
    Sal..thanks very much!
    Thanks Bryan..I appreciate it!
