HUGE write up. 250+ pics + photoshoot w/ models + vids ___________________________________________ 2005 Ferrari F430 I had the opportunity of detailing this beautiful Ferrari F430 this past weekend. I traveled from Memphis, TN to Houston, TX to detail it, as I was already going to be in Houston that weekend. 11 hour drive to and 1 hour plane flight back. Work Hours: July 16th: 8:30am - 7:00pm (I had many water/food/chat breaks) July 17th: 8:30am - 2:30pm Photoshoot: July 17th: 3:30pm Of course the car was kept in good condition Befores: Built up wax: I have no clue why Ferrari made the tips like this, wonder why they didnt make them easier on the eye balls. Diffuser was a little dull: Grime: Long story behind the wheels. Long story short- they were cleaned with Megz chrome wheel cleaner and that messed them up. They had to get resurfaced and refinished. Clear bra on half of hood, mirrors, front bumper: Perfect beading, I wonder what LSP he had: I LOVE ripping through prior LSPs. 2oz CG Citrus Wash + 1oz Megz Green APC: Excuse my horrible looks. It was blazing hot out there. But my sweat actually kept me cool. When I mow the lawn in the broad sun with my shirt off in Memphis I dont even sweat this much. Texas weather is crazy!! 1oz/1gal CG Citrus Wash. Two bucket method. Clear buckets w/Grit Guards Emblems, crevices etc agitated with SV Brush and Megs 4:1 APC Grime Reaper and P21S Soap on tips: Car sprayed down with CG Synthetic Quick Detailer and dried with Cobra Guzzlers Blew out cracks and crevices Wheels- NO wheel cleaner on carbon ceramic brakes. Also wanted to be easy on the newly finished wheels. Used about 2oz of CG Glossworkz: Grime reaper in wheel wells and tires. Whell well brush and EZ mini: Full EZ Brush: Detail stick: SV wheel Brush: Blown dry and wiped with MF: After wash. BEAUTIFUL Texas weather, I want to move there. YouTube - Ferrari F430 Start Up ___________ Leather EVERYWHERE. Leather Masters Strong Cleaner Door jambs got APC 4:1 Tape up vents, trim, plastics Menz 85rd and Uber Green pad. Did the small areas first with the 4" pad. Heres an example of the areas I did with the small pad. Right side: 5.5" Used shamrocks so I could lean over without scratching. Not IPA 1:1. It's 80% IPA 20% DI water, as per David (dsms). Windows cleaned with Diamondite Cleaner then sealed with Klasse AIO After polishing: I dont know what I was thinking, should have cleaned the engine first. But I had to go ahead and do it, taped off the sides with leftover painter wrap stuff. Grime reaper 5:1, SV brush, , EZ mini detail brush, blown dry Dried car off where it got a bit wet. Now time to wrap it up for the night. Applied in a line from end to end to ensure full spreading was achieved Left the sealant to cure overnight. Owner supplied pizza, drinks, and friends came over to chat. Great night. _________________________ DAY 2 Leather Masters Vital. So he scheduled an aspiring and professional model. And brought his dog Chuy (pronounced Chewie). I took all pics with my DSLR INSIGNIS. I had to hahaha. _____________________ HIGHWAY SHOOT While Chuy drove I was snappin shots Took these while I was ridin in it...the beautiful open road...just before we were about to tear it up: ________________________ VIDS Fly By YouTube - Ferrari F430 Fly By YouTube - Ferrari F430 Driving YouTube - Ferrari F430 race mode YouTube - Ferrari F430 Driving Rev Under a Bridge YouTube - Ferrari F430 Under Bridge Rev This thread was brought to you by yours truely- 02blackout I would like to thank Jon (JonM) and David (dsms) for any info/tips given. Thanks for looking everyone!!!!!!!
I'll be the first to say, fine job there. Thorough as can be with a fine end result, nice to see you had some fun in the end after all and it wasnt all work no play!
You did some great work there, lots of attention. If I may offer one piece of advice, use that Mini EZ more often. You looked like you were struggling near the exhaust pipes with the Swissvax brush.
Amazing job and documentation on such an amazing car!!! I love the attention to detail you put into detailing the car and the procedure documenting it. I'm sure the owner was very pleased. Like Brendan asked, how'd you get the job? Was the 911 a friend of the F430's?
Thank you!! Getting all the pics, uploading them, resizing/editing, making the write up, etc etc etc took FOREVER. Connections :thumb:. Yeah the F430s owner has alot of friends with SICK cars. Hes big in the Ferrari club there. He basically has good connections, hopefully I'll get some more biz/fun
That is insane! I live in Texas and don't have connections to Houston! Beautiful job on the car, how did you get all your supplies and what not down there? And for future reference, Nike Dri-Fit is your best friend if you detail in Texas, especially down there with all the humidity. It doesn't stick to your body like cotton.
Thank you. Took forver!! Connections, lol But drove there and flew my stuff back. Going to be back down there soon I think. At least my sweat kept me cool The blonde is my girl
loving this write up mate. can you tell me where you got them green microfibre towels? with the black edge?
Very impressive work mate! Your attential to detail is perfect, and I appreciate you taking the time to take so many pics and show what products you're using. I was on the fence about Leather Master, but you showed how easy it was to use. Great to see all the applicators used as well. Nice to see what you got to use your missus in the photo shoot. Maybe I can convince my missus to do the same one day!
Those chicks are hot Your write-up is one of the best I have ever seen :what: (I may wanna hire you soon :flirt: ) And of course, the car came out beautiful :applause:
