I'm off to the Police Memorial in Toronto in 1/2 hour, so I gotta make this one quick. Here's a car I did for a co-worker that has 106,000 km on it. Not bad for a 6 year old car. It was in pretty good shape too. Unfortunately it was raining when she delivered it and raining when she picked it up so the pics aren't the greatest. I quoted 8 hours but took 10..I gotta get better at estimating.:shead: I tried just using DG 501 but needed something stronger. I didn't finish this bad boy up until 0330 hrs..I was tired. The Process: Wheels done with SC using ez brush. Wells done with 303 cleaner. Tires with ARO. Wheels cleaned subsequently with XMT 360. Wheels sealed with JS 109. Tires dressed with DP gel. Wells dressed with Crappy Tire dressing. Paint compounded with UCCL, wool pad with rotary Paint then cleaned with DG 501, using rotary, white pad removed with Cookie Monster mf. DG 601 applied by hand. DG 105 applied/removed by hand. Trim done with black again. Mustang emblem done with DG 501. Misc touch ups (deep gouges improved, not perfect by any means) Glass done with IG. Door jams done with ONR. Interior plastic dressed with 303 Aerospace. Carpets vacuumed/shampoo'd (with mandatory wide stripes). BEFORES: AFTERS:
Man richy you do some mighty fine work. I am always anxious to read your show and shines as I know I'll be impressed with the results. You made that dull paint just glimmer. Oh and I love the mandatory wide stripes.
Richy..great job..really looks nice now..I can see the flake pop real nice just from the pictures..the interior is great also...you do nice work Al
Great job Richy!! Mandatory wide strips :giggle: They look nice. DG 501 on the emblem  Sparkie just told me that one. Looks great! 3:00 AM oohhh my goodness!!! I have no idea how long it will take me. I am asking people to drop it off for the weekend and pick it up Sunday. so far it is working. I don't want to rush or be stressed :giggle: You did a great job! You got some nice reflection shots and the flakes are popin!!! Great job!!
Thanks Tonya...the mandatory wide stripes is a bit of a joke of mine. A lot of people were putting stripes into the mats which I thought was cool, but I preferred the look of the wide stripes and got a lot, a lot of feedback on them at AGOL (a bunch of the displaced AG'ers will recall that). I even posted a pic of the attachment I use to cut them. I had a time constraint on this one which I normally don't do to myself but it was the only weekend that was going to work for a while and I had to leave on Saturday to attend a police memorial out of town. Coffee and cigars (I smoked 2) did the trick for me however.
Looking good there richy, always look forward to your details my friend. Thank you for sharing with us eace:
Beautiful job richy! The car came out great! Mustangs aren`t the same without leather seats and a stick!
Thanks pirex..I guess the upside with no stick is you can be pretty much assured it hasn't had the snot driven out of it yet.
