Once they have your info, they can put it on a card that they make. They don't have to have "your" card, just your info to make their own.

I had some mysterious charges show up on my online statement as well.. I brought it to my bank and they took care of it for me right away! wooohh

 

Actually something similar happened to me as well. Only my CC company called me up because whoever was trying to charge stuff on my card went over my CC limit. I live in hawaii and these mysterious charges were being done in California.

Anyway they called me up and i said no that was not me, so they cancelled the card for me and sent me a new one. Luckily nothing REALLY bad happened and the CC company stood by me.
