Just wondering how many UK regulars you have on here. I am thinking of coming on here more than what I have been..
Well it seems that there are more and more joining every day...I've seen a few of them and looking forward on seeing more UK members.
Hi Ronnie from what i know there is myself, Epoch, DaveKG, Panama, Dom-dodo, yourself ill edit as i remember more :thumb:
I feel that DW is getting too full of ego's at present esp amongst some pro's which is a shame. the amitures are on one side and the pros are on the other. there is only a small no of pros who are still living on planet earth over there! So I had been a member here since there were only 40 members so I thought I might just post here for a while.
I only count as 50% UK regular as I spend the rest of my time in FL US. I seems that ego's take the upper hand and ruin many good detailing forums (for what it's worth, it seems to start as soon as a line is drawn between the professional and enthusiast contributors) Thus far DB remins unaffected by this and is a great place for detailing information (plus some great forum sponsers)
I would agree. once it separated between pro and enthusiast about 8 months later, there was a split beginning to form. there are a few pros who are excellent and help out the hobby detailer as much as they can. but I am looking a more enthuiastic site and one not soo comercial.
Well I can understand where your coming from Ronnie, as in the past I've joined other forums and felt completely out of place. Having said that I completely agree with you, as forums grow they loose something and it's like you said that enthusiasm that they once had. As for the commercial feeling yes I can understand that too, I've been approached by a few companies looking to sponsor Detailing Bliss. To be honest I'm not overly interested on making money from the forum however, what I am interested in is having good vendors who really care about the customer....sure I could have a bunch of vendors in here and make reasonable amount of money from them..but that wasn't my goal of this forum. My goal was to have a place for any one to join and speak there mind. I think I've done a reasonable job at that, but that's just my opinion. Things always change though and sometimes its good to be reminded of what spawned the idea, meaning going back to how it all started. I'm quite fortunate to have sponsors that I consider friends, we all get along just fine and have shared several conversations over personal matters...so to me I don't see them as just sponsors, I see them as friends sharing the same passion for detailing. I do hope to maintain this same path through out the growth Detailing Bliss will have in the future, but like I said things change but I'll say this now, if any of you see me getting greedy or perhaps feel that Detailing Bliss is heading to a downward path I'm always open to suggestions. i'm only human and like all of us it can be difficult to see our own mistakes..um..just be gentle on me that's all I ask :hippie:
I tend to agree, as the forum grows, it seems to lose a lot of that enthusiast feeling. I used to be an avid Autopia user and now i barely log on. When i turn on the computer, its straight to DB. :headbang::headbang::headbang: I feel Carlos has done a great job. The forum is growing rapidly, but still remains to have the fun enthusiast feeling even though we do have a pro and enthusiast bragging section.
